We're considering a late January - early February WDW vacation. How is the weather? We're from the Northeast and I'm sure by then we'll want to get away from the cold and snow. However, how warm will it be in Orlando at that time?

Jan: Average High: 72 (°F) 22 (C) Average Low: 49 (°F) 9 (C) Average Rainfall: 2.1 (in) 5.3 (cm)

Feb: Average High: 73 (°F) 23 (C) Average Low: 50 (°F) 10 (C) Average Rainfall: 2.8 (in) 7.1 (cm)

Winter is typically "dry" season but be prepared. Cold fronts can and do pass thru and the temsp can drop into the 30s but by February, it's less common.

We were there the third week in January 2001 and it was downright cold. Early am temps were in the low 30's and daytime highs were low 50's. The week before and after we were there it was beautiful weather. I think that although there are historical patterns and temps there is very dramatic variations during the month of January.Pool use was not an option and I will lay in the sun here at home even on a very cool day. It was cool, overcast and fires were burning, producing so much smoke that it covered the sun when it was out. This is an instance where Good Luck really comes in! Good Luck!!

We were there the third week in January 2002 & it was PERFECT! About 80 degrees every day - only needed a sweatshirt 1 morning - went swimming even at night! We will be there the last week in Jan this year.

Could be anything! We went once in mid-jan and never put on a sweatshirt it was so warm. We went early Feb. this year and only wore shorts one day as it was cool. One night at Fantasmic it was downright cold and I was kicking myself for not having brought the polarfleece jackets and gloves!

In 2000 we were there the last week of January and the first two days were beautiful....upper 70's to the low 80's. But on day three it rained and with the rain came some cooler temps. But still not cold by any means! The pools at WDW are heated, so swimming is still an option for the adventerous types (my kids!)

This year we went the first week of February and it was nicer than in Jan. 2000. We thought the weather was gorgeous! There was one day that was a little cooler than the others, but it wasn't cold by any means! I'll take wearing a sweatshirt or light jacket over 98 degrees any old day!

For our next trip, we are going the last week of January again.

I'd advise bringing a few sweatshirts and maybe a light jacket just to be on the safe side for the cooler evenings!

I think it's a crapshoot!

We went the first week of February in 1999 and had absolutely perfect weather--70's at night, 80's during the day.

I've been told we were very lucky, though.

... and it's been pretty nice each time! In 2000 and 2001 we went the second week of Feb. and had gorgeous weather both times (80s and sunny). This year we went a bit earlier (Jan 31-Feb 5) and had mostly great weather (high 70s), but a few days in the 60s. There was never any rain during our trips... I would definitely recommend going that time of year. The crowds are better and it's cool enough to enjoy touring all the parks but not so cold that you wouldn't enjoy a dip in the pool or hot tub!

1995 First week of Feb. Chilly but not terribly cold all week. Needed a long sleeved shirt during the day, jacke tin evening.

1996, first week of Feb. First day was gorgeous, balmy, beautiful. By the end of the second day we were wearing our winter coats, it was FREEZING. They lost a lot of the orange crop that year. The last day of the week we were able to wear shorts and t's, but it wasn't warm enough to swim.

1998, last week of January, cold, rainy, generally unpleasant.

Didn't go back during that time frame after that.

Generally it's not very warm, although warmer than the NE. Do'nt expect to wear tank tops and swim everyday. Even when it's 72, there can be a cool breeze. You might get lucky, but I wouldn't count on it.
