I have been looking at airfare for my next trip. As of right now it is cheaper to leave after 6pm than in the morning. Lots cheaper! What should I do to kill time before my flight out? The rest of my family will be leaving early that morning, as they are driving home. :moped: I am worried about feeling lonely no matter what I do! What would you do to pass the time???

If we don't have to leave for the airport until after 5, we do another few hours at a park. But most of the time we take our time packing and checking out in the morning and then head to DTD for some last minute shopping. We've also gone Resort hopping (and shopping in their gift shops) and once we rented bicycles and rode around OKW. Hope you have fun! :flower:

We live out West, so we always leave on a later flight - usually about 5 or 6 pm. We pack up the night before, get up on our usual schedule and take our stuff to the car (we always rent one), then hit a park. We have APs so no worries about tickets. We usually plan for a late lunch at Downtown Disney or do tea at the Grand Floridian and head to the airport around 3:30. It makes for a great wind-down to the trip!

If you don't have APs or don't want to do a park the last day, you can always do some last minute shopping at Downtown Disney or a tour of some of the resorts.

We purposely get a later flight to enjoy a few more hours at a park. You can do some shopping DT or in your resort gift shop, or in the parks!! Have a nice lunch at another great restaurant...it'll be a little different by yourself, but savor those last moments!! Enjoy the alone time. I'm home with my children everyday and I love them dearly, but a few hours alone anywhere sounds wonderful!! :rotfl: Maybe you'll see something you never noticed before... :goodvibes

In Oct, our flight left at 6:30 pm....we checked out of CBR early, gave our luggage to the ME desk, stored our carry-ons, had breakfast at the food court and headed to Magic Kingdom. We rode a few things, and leisurely walked around and hit some small out of the way shops, had our picture taken with Mickey and closed our trip with lunch at the Castle. Back at the
CBR at 3 to catch the bus for the airport. It was a wonderful day!!! In May
I booked the same 6:30 pm flight and we plan to do Animal Kingdom that day.
If you think you will be lonely, you can book a KTTK tour. We met lots of
nice people doing that!

If you're not going to have park tickets for that day I'd resort hop. Check out places you haven't stayed and maybe you'll find the perfect place for you nex trip!

We usually do Downtown Disney on departure day. Shop shop shop and if thats' not enough, catch a movie there.

You could always go see a movie or two at DTD, or go on one of the park tours.

We enjoy wandering around Epcot on our last day. We take a late (8:50pm) flight and have time to enjoy a nice lunch (sushi) and then have dinner at the Outback steakhouse at the airport. It's a great way to end the day and the trip.

Of course, in two weeks, we'll spend our last day at MGM. Lunch at Sci-Fi and then some last minute fun. We've also done the Downtown Disney thing. Isn't it great there are so many options for us all??!! And people wonder why we keep going back....silly fools! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I usually arrive before DH on most trips down to WDW....DD is usually working at that time, and I "check into" my hotel, on the way home...I'm usually there again by myself....I have an PAP, so I go to the parks...I purposely leave later in the day..so that I get to see my daughter for a little bit of time before I fly back north....there are so many things to see and do within the Disney complex that you can amuse yourself for hours....go on the monrail, check out the people who come on and off of it...get off at eac one of the hotels..check out the lobbies, gift shops, restaurants....take a bus and do last minute souvenir shopping (leave it to the last day so you have something to keep you occupied)...sit in the hotel lobby and people watch....take the ME earlier and people watch at the airport...buy a good book and find a comfortable couch, lounge chair, and read! Go to one of thepools and sit, enjoy the sun....etc!

We almost always take a later flight home, to maximize our time at WDW! Most hotels- onsite and off- will allow you to store your luggage there after you check out. We usually spend some time in Downtown Disney and get those last minute purchases! When we're there in May, the day we're leaving is part of Star Wars weekend at MGM, so we might go there 1st thing in the am. Our flight doesn't leave until 6:25, so we could easily stay in the park until 2:30/3pm, and have plenty of time to get back to the resort, get our luggage and get to the airport.
