late Feb.- peak season?

We planned our Disney trip Feb 25-March 3, thinking that the President's Day crowds would be gone and spring break crowds wouldn't be there yet. The crowd calculator in the Unofficial Guide puts these days at about 5- as low as October! Now we keep hearing that this is peak season, the hotel rates haven't been as good, etc. One reservations lady told me this is "winter break" time for schools around there (?? I thought that was Christmas?). Should we expect crowds at the parks? We're hoping to be able to find a good last minute hotel deal and cancel our mediocre one ($98 kidsuite at Country Inn Calypso Cay), but maybe not if this is a peak time..
Has anyone been that week in past years?

spring break starts the middle of Feb and ends (most of it) the middle of April...

so yes it is peak time.

Now it completely depends upon how many schools are out. and of those schools how many go to WDW.

check on disney schedule (MK) - the longer the hours - the more crowds are expected.

check on right before you leave. Disney changes it sometimes.

They do in fact keep the entire season rated as peak season. However, in that timeframe the last week of February and very first week of March are usually the best to go. For spring break season- that is when you'll find the lightest crowds.

That week is also Mardi Gras week. There will be plenty of people from Louisiana traveling to Orlando, us included
I've heard that the crowds are still not as bad as Easter though. So let's all keep our fingers crossed!
