Late dinner a bad decision??

I have just made an 8:30 p.m. dinner reservation at Le Cellier and was now wondering if that would in any way mean bad service as we will be there near closing time of the parks. I mean, would they try and rush us out of there?? Has anyone ever had any experience with this :confused3 Since this is our first trip without the kids, we have always eaten earlier so this is our first time dealing with this situation...thanks.

I do not think that it would mean bad service as the waitstaff relies on their tips for their livelihood......good service means a good tip...

Absolutely not WE had a 8:15 adr there this summer. WE knew we would miss wishes but this was the only time we could get. We were not rushed at all. Great server, and food. WE ordered dessert too. The servers who have finished for the evening were cleaning off the table and such next to you, but it didn't bother us. After dinner it was nice walking back to the monorail, because the big crowds were pretty much gone.

Although I will have to say, after such a big and wonderful dinner, that walk back to the monorail seemed like 10 miles. :lmao:

We havent eaten at LeCellier late but I plan for mostly late dinners at other restaurants. Many times the places arent as full and we dont feel as rushed. For our next trip we have Ohana scheduled for 9:15 and Boma scheduled for 9:10.

Anytime you can get in is a good time. They will not rush you out. Sit back and enjoy!!!!

Thanks....I feel much better about this now...can't wait to get there  This is our first time dining at Le Cellier along with a few other restaurants that the kids never seemed interested in so I have much to look forward to :cool1:

We frequently eat dinner at FF or YSH after Illuminations and have never, ever felt rushed. Our last time at Bisto de Paris we were seated at 8:55 - by a window and just in time to enjoy Illuminations. We did not finish our meal until 10:15 and no one seemed to care. There were many other diners there too and the wait staff did not begin clearing tables either. So go, enjoy and relax!

WE have had later reservations before also, did not have a problem with the service or food. Everything was fantastic!!!! :sunny:

Personally I think late dinners are better....staff are usually more relaxed and not so in a rush to get you in and out.

Just plan on not being seated at 8:30. It will probably be more like 9 when you get seated. So don't plan on seeing Illuminations.

Yep, we have illuminations set for a different evening...thanks.

Late dinners are great. Less crowded. Service is as good as any other time.

But, I don't do them anymore. As much as I think I won't mind missing Illuminations because I'll have seen it already or will another night, I didn't like that "So close but yet so far" feeling. I ran out of the restaurant to catch the finale last time.

But you probably aren't as big a dork as I. :)

8:30pm for you is like 5:30pm for Guests who hail from the west coast. WDW restaurants tend to have their heaviest dining hours from 7-10pm because of those on later schedules from other time zones, so the service stays pretty good right up till closing.

Swimnoid, 9:15 at 'Ohana will be mighty crowded as people from MK make their way out of the park. And if you happen to be there on a night when the fireworks happen anywhere between 8 and 9, 'Ohana will be a mob scene (fireworks time is always in great demand at 'Ohana and California Grill since they have great views of MK).
