DS decided last minute that he wants to go to CM. Managed to find an ADR at 8:50 pm. DSs are 4 and 1, so I am concerned about this timing being too late to enjoy. How long a wait till seating? In your opinion is this worth it? We have other ADRs at CP (lunch), O'hana (breakfast), and Garden Grill (dinner), so we will have a chance to see characters.
TIA

Snagged a 5:15 pm at CM instead!!! Thanks for all the replies and suggesting persistence!!

You are lucky to have gotten that - I have been trying a few times every day to get in anytime during our trip and can't get anything!

We've always been seated on time at Chef Mickey's, never more than 5-10 min. later than our ADR time. And if you check in earlier you may even get in a little early.

Can you maybe do a late nap that day? Like finish up at the parks about 2-3pm, and let the kids nap till 5-ish?? That is what we always did for our later nights out.

My kids all love Chef Mickey's - its the one place they all said they really want to visit this trip. The food isn't anything spectacular to me, but love the atmosphere. And aside from one crabby waitress we've always had good service there.

You are correct that is a late ressie, but if it is ok with your family you should be fine. You shouldn't have to wait to be seated. If you go a bit early they may be able to get you in quicker too.

IMO with kids your ages, I wouldn't do an ADR that late. Another option is to keep trying for an earlier time. I was able to get CM @ 5:05 PM 2 weeks before our trip. I tried every other day for a week or so.

Godd Luck!

We've always had to wait at CM for our ADR. There is no way with a 4 and 1 year old that I would schedule a dinner this late. First of all they will need to eat before that anyway and second of all you are asking them to sit at an hour they are normally in bed. Even if you can make it to the ADR you are setting them up for a meltdown. The pictures with the characters are almost certain to contain zombie children's faces and frustrated parent faces.
