Late checkout

Our flight doesn't take off until 7:30pm the day we leave Disney. Do they do late checkout? or what will we do until it is time to head to the airport?

You can give your luggage to Bell Services, and they can hold the carry-ons, and in the morning, check through the checked luggage. You can always ask, but depending on how full the resort is, your room might be promised to someone at 3 PM.

If your resort has a fitness center, you can put day bags in a locker there, and shower before you leave for the airport. You'll have time to go to a park, or just hang out by the pool. If you're using ME, your pickup time should be around 4:30.

You can request late check out the night before, which will be determined on how full the resort is. We had late check out once and we did it through the front desk, but others have reported having to get it ok'd through housekeeping. Late check out until 1:00 pm is free; until 3:00 pm would be 1/2 night's room rate; after 3:00 pm is a full night's rate. As the pp said, late check outs are granted according to how busy the resort is at that time. If it's a slow time and the room isn't needed, your chances are good; if it's a busy time and the resort is at or near capacity, late check out most likely will not be granted. If it isn't possible to keep the room, you can leave your luggage with bell services as others have said and go to a park, DTD, or resort hop to look around, shop, eat, etc. HTH .

At WL last week (thursday check out) we had to call early in the morning to request late checkout thru housekeeping...we were granted this for only one of our two rooms...were told we should move our bags to the late checkout room (adjoining).

They may give you an extra hour. They won't till you until the night before. It depends on how quickly they need your room. I'd plan on packing up. You can check your bags with the airline if you fly. Bell services will store your carry ons (and regular bags if needed). Go to a park for the day. You ME pick up will be around 4:30. You'll need to be at the stop 15 minutes early. An hour before pick up, go back to your resort and get your bags.

There is no late check outs from DVC resorts. The villas take longer to clean and there is little or no vacancy most of the time.
