who or how do you ask for late check out and what is the charge?

The Front Desk, which may or may not refer you to Housekeeping.

Until 1 PM - no charge
Until 3 PM - 50% of the nightly room rate
Later than 3 PM - 100% of the nightly room rate

We were able to get 1PM at no charge last time.

you have to ask day of your checkout day and call front desk early. disney may or may not let you late check out which is 1pm. your luggue can be kept at the front desk last day while you are in the park no charge.

I think we were instructed to call the day before check out.

on Thursday, March 27th. I called the front desk Wednesday evening, around 5, and they could only give us till 12 noon. I figured I'd try again the morning we were checking out, but they could still give us only till noon. As we had reservations at Cape May Cafe for breakfast at 11, it really didn't help us because we knew we would probably still be at breakfast. There was however, no charge

No late check outs in DVC resorts because they take longer to clean.

At the AKL I asked to stay until 3:00 because I had God-blessed pneumonia and was so sick. They still charged me a full night's rate. AND two obnoxious guys walked into my room and told me what time check-out was.

After I informed Mr. Officious Rude and Mr. Pseudo Tough that I'd paid an entire night's stay just for a few hours they turned into Mr. Scared
Apologetic and Mr. I. M. Outta Here...couldn't get out of my room fast enough. Then they were VERY sorry.

Still pisses me off.

We have always been told to ask the day you get there. And always gotten it. The front desk sometimes call housekeeping to see. We just call housekeeping the day we get there or wait one day. But housekeeping told me it is better to call first day or latest by the next day. MHO
