I know this has probably been asked hundreds of times but the search button wouldn't come up with anything (what's new right?) Our plane departs at 6:45pm out of the orlando airport, we are staying at Coronado (if that makes a difference) ..I was wondering if late check outs were ever allowed? I would hate to have to check out at 11am and then be stuck with nothing to do for hours and hours. I mean if we had to we could go to DTD or something...but we'd rather relax before leaving because the plane ride is almost 3 hours, then once we get to the airport we have to drive 2 hours to get back home! we will be exhausted..The magical express will probably pick us up around 3:45 so an extra 2 or 3 hours would be great. anyway, if anyone knows lets me know. Thanks!

Generally speaking, late check-outs are granted on a space-availability basis. At the very earliest, they can be arranged the night before, or if not then the morning of.

If a late check-out is granted, it is until 1:00 p.m. at no extra charge. Until 3:00 p.m. the charge is 50% of the room rate, and after 3:00 p.m. the charge is 100% of the room rate.

Twice, we've flown out around the same time you are. One time we went to DTD, and the other time we went to Magic Kingdom and just set ourselves a time limit ... we recapped some of our kids' favorite stuff in Fantasyland, and shopped.

Eric's right on target, so I won't repeat that info. We always do the park nearest our resort for the last day, especially when we have a late flight. We generally tour it very, very leisurely more like we stroll around the parks. I think it's a fun way to wrap up a great vacation, just absorbing the sights & sounds. Some times we will book a sit down lunch for our "last meal"

One more points on late checkouts. I see you aren't staying in a DVC resort, but DVC resorts do not allow any late checkouts. The villas take longer to clean than the hotel rooms and the occupancy rates are much higher in DVC resorts.

We've done late check out several times. And yes, 1 p.m. is the latest (with no charge) Last time my niece had been sick all night and we weren't even sure if she was going to be able to fly home that day  (SLC). We were going to ONT so she would have to fly home alone (it's okay-she's 25) They told us the lastest we could have that day was 12:30 -they were too booked to give us more time. Even after we explained the situation. :confused3

We had ADRs at 'Ohana for 11 a.m. and we left my niece in the room (we actually had 2 connecting rooms) and the rest of us went to eat (she wanted to be left alone!) After we ate (we had a great time) my DM and DSis went back to POP to check on DNiece and see if she was going to make her flight or did my DM need to find a room for the 2 of them. My DD8 and I stayed at 'Ohana and finished our leisurely meal. Since my DM had taken the van back to POP DD and I rode around on the monorail and stopped off at the resorts to take pix as well as grabbing a few sandwiches at Gasparilla Games for the plane ride home. Our flights were about 5:30 p.m.

DNiece was feeling better and wanted to go home so they came and picked up DD and myself and we made a quick stop at the mini mart in the TTC parking lot and got a few things. Then we went to DTD to Goofy's Candy place to us up our last SC. DNiece stayed in the car and rested. It started raining while we were at DTD. DD got Grandma to get her a burger at McD's and we headed for the car and headed for MCO.

So, we found plenty to keep us busy until we had to leave for MCO but we did have our own car. I think a great way to end your trip is to book a late breakfast (we've also done PF twice) have a leisurely meal, explore other resorts (monorail ones are easiest), and maybe check out DTD.

We almost always have most of a day to spend out of our room since we are flying to the West Coast and we leave late in the day.
