Late Check Out

hello! does anyone know if DVC allow late check-outs? Check out is typically at 11am, but we have a evening flight back home. we're planning to be at Blizzard Beach on this last day to relax and enjoy the sun. it would be great to be able to head back to the resort to shower and clean up before leaving for our flight.

is there additional cost for late check-out?

or any thoughts on how to plan a visit to BB on the last day with an evening flight?

appreciate any inquisitive ideas from the DISers!

DVC normally does not allow late check-outs. Given the occupancy rates at DVC resorts any late check-out would delay the next guest from getting into their room. If you truly feel a late check-out would be of a great advantage to you, you can reserve your room for an extra night and leave early. I don't know if all the resorts have this, but at OKW there are showers located in the restrooms near the main pool where you could freshen up and change before your flight.

There are also showers at BW. They are located in the workout room area.

DVC has a written rule that they will not allow late checkout. That's not to say they never have, just don't count on it.

Yes, there is a gym/locker room near the SAB pool. You must have a room key to access it.

Your situation is very typical for many travelers, including us. We stay at VWL and enjoy hitting a couple of the parks for a favorite ride or two the last day before departing home. We set aside a small duffel bag with our swimsuits and a change of clothing, then put all our luggage in valet storage. When we return, we get the small bag, take a dip in the pool, shower in the locker room, change into fresh clothes, and then retrieve our luggage.

We usually forgo any pool activity the last day and instead do a lot of park hopping to catch our favs one last time before going home. We put anything we might need in our carry on bag, and go enjoy the parks. I wouldn't want to have to change clothes before going to the airport.
