late check out at Poly question

A few questions....we have a 8:30pm flight home when we take our trip. I was wondering if the Poly ever allows for late check out. The trip is the last week of Sept. so it might not be as crowded as at other times. Also, if we wanted to stay around the resort and swim that day, is there a place to grab a shower and change? I don't think there is a gym there, but maybe a locker room of sorts. Thanks for the help.

There is a changing room / bathroom under the waterfall at the pool. I never went in so I can't say if there are showers or not. (Our room was 10 steps from the pool.)

Late check out, when possible is good until noon or 1pm, after that they are likely to charge you a partial night's stay, if it is possible at all ( I heard 50% of room rate to keep the room after 1pm, but I do not know that for sure.)

We did late checkout for our last trip at the Poly. As I recall, we got to stay in the room till about 1:00 or 2:00, and I am certain we were not required to pay anything for it. We went to MK that morning and then swam that afternoon. We changed in the bathroom near Captain Cooks, which was very easy, except that I was very worried that people would think we were pool hoppers.

Late check out at the Deluxes are 1pm. Need to ask when you get there at least this is what I do. Good luck !

We did late check out (1:00 pm) in Sept. 2006 at the WL At that time, there was no charge to stay until 1:00 pm; 50% of room rate to stay until 3:00 pm; then the full room rate after 3:00 pm (don't know if things have changed since then). We were there the end of Sept/beginning of Oct for free dining and late check out wasn't a problem. But it does depend on the capacity of the resort and if that room is needed right away or not.

Here's the overall late checkout policy at all WDW resorts, across the board:

Checkout time is 11:00 a.m.

Late checkout is granted on a space availability basis, and typically can't even be requested until that morning or late the day before (although I've read a few exceptions, this is the way it almost always goes.

If late checkout is granted, the pricing structure is as follows:

1:00 p.m. - no charge

3:00 p.m. - 50% of daily room rate

After 3:00 p.m. - 100% of daily room rate

The bathrooms by Captain Cooks are great for changing and make-up but they don't have showers. So maybe shower under the volcano, dry off in the sun and then head in.

If you are taking ME, they will pick-up at 4:30-5:00. 5:00 is the last ME bus. We had a 7:30 flight and left at 4:20 since you stop at GF and then it takes 40 minutes to get to airport.

We ate breakfast at Capt. Cooks, did the boats in the Marina, went to MK and rode our favorite rides, came back used up our snack credits, and then hopped on ME at 4:20. We had dinner at McD's which was a nice change of pace at the airport. That worked really well for us! Hope that helps!
