Late Check In/Room Requests

Our flight will not land until after 6:30pm and I don't expect to be at the hotel until 8pm. I have reqeusted a particular building for our stay at POFQ (#4), do you think that even checking in that late will they be able to meet my request or should I just go ahead and plan on being put in whatever rooms are left?

Depending on when you leave you can always call that morning to verify your reservation and let them know your arrival time and your preferences. That couldn't hurt.

Typically the POFQ is very good about trying to get you in the building you requested. I know they make every effort to fill the requests. Bldg. 4 isn't as popular as Bldg 5 so I would think you have a good shot. One never knows though...as they say it is only a request and can not be guaranteed.

If you already have your requests in your reservation the rooms are assigned several days in advance. Guests when checking in could ask to be moved and you might lose your room, when you got there they could assign you another room.

Although we have never stayed at POFQ, we have stayed at other places and usually arrive after 6pm. We have always gotten the room requests we have made, even though we always travel at one of the busier times of year, April vacation. Just make sure the request is on your reservation

1) Contrary to popular belief, this is not the case.
2) Very few rooms are assigned in advance.
3) Most are assigned at the time of check-in.

In the event that you have something that is guaranteed -- for example -- due to a medical condition of my DS7 we have non-smoking guaranteed. I know in those instances that they assign our room prior to our arrival to guarantee that we get the non-smoking.

I believe past years they have done much of the assigning ahead of time but more recently they are letting those CMs at check assign rooms. It never hurts to call the front desk the morning of your check-in ... just to check on your reservation ... always remember to be very nice as they do have some ability to assit you in that area. And, as someone else said, room requests are also just that -- requests -- never guaranteed. In all our situations, because we are at Disney -- it is always magical.
