wondering if anyone's ever had any good / bad experiences with very late check-in with DVC....

we will be travelling in JUNE and can only fly down in the late evening. we won't be able to check in until between 1000 and 1100p. the thing i'm most worried about is whether or not we'll be able to get a non-smoking room that late in the day.

btw - if it matters - we'll be checking in to BCV.

I think your chances are better on Friday than on Sun.-Thurs.

You could always check into an airport hotel for the night and then head over to DVC the next morning.

I've checked in at all hours and have never had a problem. It probably wouldn't hurt to call Member Services and have them make a notation on your reservation that you'll be checking in very late and that a non-smoking room is VERY important.

that's encouraging.....i didn't know you make such a notation on your reservation. i'll have to give MS a call. thanks, jdvm....

We checked into OKW at 2AM and we got our non smoking request and it took about 1 minute to get the keys-just tell them ahead of time so they are expecting you.

I don't think I could use Fri points to arrive that late.

We are goingin June, and I didn't want to use the points for Sat night getting in late, so we are staying at AS Movies. DH and kiddos will choose a park for Sun morning, and I will go check us in at OKW and meet up.

We are doing a late check in at SSR on a Sat. night but only into a studio. Then the next day into a one bedroom.

i hear ya...

the thing is that we are only planning one trip this year - and this is the one. if we didn't use the points for that FRI, we'd just end up banking them anyway. and we'd prefer to get up early in the morning to enjoy a full day in the parks on saturday rather than arrive sometime mid-morning, have to worry about what time we'll be able to get into our room, and only get to spend 1/2 a day or less doing 'disney things'....

We arrived late (around 10:30/11pm) to BCV earlier this month. It was a Thursday. We had a quick check in and received a non smoking first floor room (as we requested) right near the the Villas pool. We ordered room service and settled in. The only problem was our luggage didn't arrive from ME until 3:30 a.m.(and that was only after we called twice). In fairness, there was confusion when we checked in at the airport. The woman printed out 12 luggage slips when we only had 11 pcs of luggage (there were 8 of us). I am not sure if that caused the delay. The bellman asked to see our baggage claim slips when he brought the luggage, saying he thought we were missing one piece.
