We'll be at Ft Wilderness in November/December and will only have MVMCP and one additional day in the parks per DH's wishes. Right now I'm planning on morning EMH at Epcot (going on past dates) for Soarin' and Frozen and Animal Kingdom in the evening for the new nighttime stuff. I'll probably book an early dinner dining package at AK but was wondering about breakfast. DH loves a nice brunch.

We're up for pretty much anything food wise, characters are okay but not neccessary, a late ADR is important. Our favorite breakfasts are Boma and Wave but these are inconvenient given my itinerary. Any suggestions? How is Garden Grill?

Why not try Akershus? It's a little different from your normal breakfast. Garden Grill is yummy (warm nutella for your waffle and a huge cinnamon roll bake!). I think you're already tight on time, so I don't think I would leave EP for a meal, but if you're wanting the break, Cape May over at Beach Club is a buffet and Garden GROVE at The Swan (I think) also has a breakfast buffet, but also has a la carte.

Garden Grill is very well reviewed. The food is basic (so not like Boma) but good. If you want something a bit more interesting I agree Akershus may be the way to go - the hot stuff is boring but the cold bar is interesting.

We won't be hitting the parks hard-DH doesn't like it. We have both been to WDW many times. The plan is to ride Soarin' first thing during EMH (if it is scheduled) then Frozen at regular opening. For the most part we'll just have a wander in WS and then have a late breakfast/brunch.

Akershus is just too pricey, especially given that we're really not interested in meeting princesses. DH tolerates characters but would really rather not.

I'm assuming (!) that there will only be one showing of Whatever is Going to Be in Place by December at AK. Planning on FP for a nighttime Safari and a dining package for the show. DH doesn't do any thrill rides so maybe FotLK and a throwaway FP.

Any thoughts on Captain's Grill at Yacht Club?

I don't have any thoughts on Captain's Grill, but your plan to wander WS won't work. Except for the Frozen stuff in Norway, there won't be anything else open until 11:00. You're going to need to find something else to fill your time there or head on to breakfast after you finish Frozen.

Thanks, forgot about the 11:00 thing.

We have zero plans to do anything outside Soarin' and Frozen. DH absolutely hates rushing from ride to ride. I make several trips without him every year so I'm good with that plan as well. Odds are excellent that we'll end up sitting with a Starbucks and watching the world go by. I'm hoping to get a 9:30-10:00 AM(ish) FP for Frozen.

DH just got up and wants to drive to Epcot and then head offsite for breakfast after Frozen. (Of all of the things he doesn't care for at Disney the price/quality ratio at a WDW restaurant sits just below rushing around from attraction to attraction on the old wince-o-meter.) I guess my problem is solved!

Thanks anyway!

You can just take ham croissant or roulé au lard a Les Halles for breakfast soooo good! The roulé au lard is made with Bacon and cheese. Bacon... Cheese... Mmmmmm!

Our favorite breakfast meal every vacation is the Garden Grove at the Swan, it's a can't miss for our family. They have a wonderful buffet, and you can also order a la carte. (Weekends only it's a character meal.)

We've had breakfast at Captain's Grille the last three times we've been at Disney (we stayed at Yacht Club each time). I really enjoy it - pretty quiet, nice atmosphere and would be a short walk from Epcot. The buffet is pretty standard Disney breakfast buffet food, perhaps a bit higher quality than normal, but some of the regular menu items are very good. They used to have a very well reviewed lobster omelet but looks they've replaced it with a rock shrimp omelet that I haven't tried. Anyway, I highly recommend. I'll note that the price has increased a fair bit over the last few years for the buffet. I believe it was around $18 a person the first time we went and is now well over $20 per person.

The Captain's Grille has a nice buffet. You can order custom eggs when you order the buffet. They have a good al a carte menu, too. And the price is lower than Cape May's character buffet.

We loved the buffet at Captain's Grill so much we went twice on our last trip. We are definitely going at least once this time too. I found it to be much better than any other we had been to at Disney.

They also have a dark chocolate waffle that my 13 year old is looking forward to having again.

It's quiet and calm, and it makes a good break.

We always go at rope drop for Soarin and have a FP+ for an hour or so later, eat breakfast at Sunshine seasons, the breakfast panini is my favorite breakfast on Disney property!

If you are taking it slow, you could walk over to the Boardwalk area and grab something from the bakery or Bellevue Lounge. If you want a buffet, I have heard the breakfast buffet at the Dolphin is good.

Happy Planning!

When we were there in March they were only serving grab and go breakfast at Sunshine Seasons, I'm assuming because Soarin was closed but don't know for sure.

I'm a huge hater of buffets and even I ate at the Dolphin every morning. Great egg making station, whatever kind you want they will make. It's a tad expensive though.

Sorry, I didn't mean it as a question. We love it; I should have phrased it as "We love Cape May-- would you consider it?"
