Late Availability - Last 2 Weeks August.

I won't bore everyone with all of the details but we were due to be home at VWL the last 2 weeks in August,work commitments forced a cancellation in March. The Trial I was due to do then fell through but we then had a major fire at home which has led to my family being in a hotel for the last 10 weeks! We now think that we need a disney shot and are trying to get a flight from the uk. My question is this - are we likely to get avaailability at this late stage for either a 1 bed villa or a studio either at VWL or for that matter any other home resort? It would be from about the 17th Aug onwards for 2 weeks. Any Ideas? Thanx in advance.

Hi. Since VWL is a small resort, it tends to be dificult finding availability. I would call Member Services - they would be glad to help you find out what is available. I would guess OKW or SSR would have something available in your timeframe, but I don't know that for sure. Good Luck!

My guess would be that you would be able to do this with OKW or Saratoga. This time of year all the kids are getting ready to go back to school and it shouldn't be as crowded. Good Luck to you

Hope you get something. I called yesterday just before MS closed and could not get any sized room anywhere for the night of the 20th :guilty

As an FYI -- I tried calling 2 days ago for a studio anywhere for the nights of August 24-28. The only studio available was at SSR.

Ok here we go. I have managed to get a flight! As per accommodation I could not get into any DVC resorts until the 24th Aug that being a 1 bed at Saratoga for the 8 days before then all I could get was a cabin at Fort Wilderness. I have never stayed there so have no idea what to expect. Does anyone know if it is worth keep calling back to member services to see if any home resorts come up and even if they do can we transfer the reservation from the campground I don't know how the booking works as obviously its a none DVC resort. As always any help much appreciated*

Free Dining.....And we are talking inside the 30 day booking window, so all member inventory is available for cash ressies. It is probably unlikely that anything will open up. You should enjoy FW however! It's different, but relaxing, and it sounds like you could use some relaxation! Enjoy your trip!
