Late August weather and crowds

Just how busy and hot will it be in late August?? We're considering doing free dining around August 20th but I'm starting to wonder if it's a bad idea. We would be bringing our almost 2 year old and he's not exactly the most flexible kid in the world. Opinions??

We did this last year for the last two weeks in August. We spent every afternoon at the pool and mornings and evenings at the park. We encountered no trouble.

As August ends, it is not nearly as busy as in early August -- but still busy.
