Late August v July and early August

Hi All,

Last year we did mid August after years of mid July trips and the crowds were a little more tolerable and there were no large tour groups which also helped. This year we are going even later the thru 8/29. I know most sites show a drop off around 8/17 even from just a week earlier. Will it be noticeably less crowded that late in the summer with many states back in school? Just looking for some "real world" assurances from those that have done those weeks. Thanks in advance.

It will still be hot, but the crowds will be DRAMATICALLY lower that last week of August (then ramp back up Labor Day weekend). ...

Keep in mind that Labor Day is late this year also (September 7th). I've been the weekend of and the week after labor day twice now and after the weekend it really dies out a lot. This year I will be going Aug 22 through September 5th. I'm expecting pretty low crowds but not quite as low as the week after labor day.

Thanks a lot for confirming what I have been seeing on websites. It will be a new experience not being there at the most crowded times which is what I have been used to.

this is good to know as I was worried about crowds..we go on the 16th August for a week

This was the MK on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend last year:

On the preceding Thursday and Friday, we rode TSM with a 20 and 25 minute wait, respectively, at around 5:00 in the afternoon.

It's hot, but the crowds are very, very manageable.
