How do late arrivals work?

I will be landing at MCO right before midnight. It is a very short trip and I will only have carry-on luggage. No need for baggage claim. I remember online check-in used to allow you to pick an arrival time, but I do not see it as an option anymore. I previously entered my flight information and received my DME confirmation at 30 days out. Do I need to call the resort to tell it I am coming very late? Would the number be that generic call center for the "resort?" I plan on stopping at the front desk because my MagicBand never works. Is there anything I am missing?

One of the recent updates to MDE seems to have tied in to ME info somewhere. Based on what I've seen, if you give Disney your flight info they don't ask for your arrival time now, it uses that so there is no need to give it to them, they just know when you are due to arrive based on your flight info. The only time I've entered the arrival time is when I haven't provided my flight info yet.

I arrived very late earlier this month and there were no issues.

Ahh, this makes me feel better. I thought I was crazy and missing something! I haven't been since early March and the update rolled out a week or two after I returned. Glad all should be ok based on my DME information.

I haven't seen how to add DME reservations online, but I always call the regular Disney line and they input it for us. Online checkin is available in My Disney Experience when you look at your reservations (that's where I find it; though I suppose it's possible that it isn't available for all reservations). With a late arrival, online check-in would be a really great option because you may even have your room assignment texted to you by the time you're getting ON the plane at your departure city. If you have a magic band that is already linked in your account you won't need to stop at the desk at all. You can head straight to your room after getting off the DME bus. It's very convenient.

Hey!!
We did online check in and we are arriving at 11:44 p.m. (late in the night).
When we did online check in our arrival time and everything was already "put" in with our DME flight information. Apparently DME runs 24/7 and they are always people at the Front Desk every second so you can easily check in. You can also get your room number by email and/or phone number but being Canadian I have to physically visit the front desk to pick up my Magicbands

Happy travelling!!

I arrived after midnight the last two times we were there. The only issue we had was that there was no one in the lobby at POR when we got there, so it took a little while for someone to come help me, which was more annoying than anything else.

For our December trip and my February trip I wasn't able to tell them what time I expected to get there, because I already had requested dme. It's not *that* new!

No, not terribly new, just new'ish. But, even after the change if you haven't given DME your flight info before you do online check in then it doesn't know and it still prompts you to input your arrival time so some still may not be aware that it can do it

Thank you all for the information! I did use that website a few weeks ago.

This is my fear! I have never stayed at Pop and I am unsure of what it will be like when I get there. I guess I will just have to wait and see.

Wow, I went in December and March. I must have just not noticed since I was arriving at a normal time in the afternoon. I guess I lumped it together in my mind with the updated MDE where your room number comes up.

Ahh this makes sense. Sometimes I do not add my DME until 35ish days out after I've already done on-line check-in.

Yes, the way the PP described is how it works. I put in an arrival time, but then after I added our DME info, our arrival time disappeared and was replaced by "Magical Express".
