Late arrival, Magical Express ?

Last time we used Magical Express and had a late arrival, we just got our bags. However, I'll be arriving with my 4 year old by myself this time (DH is arriving 2 days later) so it'd be really nice not to have to worry about luggage. What's the worst case scenario for our luggage if we let DME handle our luggage? We are arriving at 1145 pm. Would they deliver a few hours later around 2 am or so? Or would they wait until morning? Would we at least have our luggage by 7 am?

From what I am told, you can choose whether you want the luggage delivered as soon as possible (ca. 2 AM) or held until later in the morning.

Do this at the check in desk.

You can have them hold it or delivered later. They are well prepared for late & cancelled flights...etc. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks. And actually, I just realized we might not get our tags in time since we just booked. I assume I'll have to get my own luggage if I don't have tags, is that correct?

No, DME will still handle your bags (as long as you have pre-registered for DME). When you check in with DME at MCO, you'll have to surrender your baggage claim checks. These claim checks are what Disney will use to find your luggage, on your behalf. Remember to write down the claim check numbers before you give them to DME (in case the airline looses your luggage).

Thanks for that info! I was able to change our flight to a couple of hours earlier, arriving around 930 pm, so I will definitely let DME handle our luggage. That way, DS and I can try to get to the resort and get some food before everything closes!
