:earsgirl: Call us crazy but we're going to disney again! Got a good deal on Southwest but our flight arrives at 11:30pm. Is it to late to rent a car?

Yes, the car rentals at the airport are open at that time. I know as we've gotten a car from National at that time of nite before. I'm not sure about the off-site rentals or even L&M as it's not a national chain.

the rental places are open at the airports but just be aware that at that time of night your choices will be slim. we arrived at 8:00 on our last trip and we had reserved a suv when we got to the lot there was 1 older no option suv but we had no choice unless we wanted to pick a car which was not an option for us.

Also none of the FastBreak type places are open, you'll have to go to the counter in the terminal.

Anne-I've used National after 11:00p. Picked a car out of EA and gave the paperwork to the cashier/gate attendant on the way out. Has the procedure changed in the last year?

I would love to know the same, our plane arrives at 9:00 and I don't want to be stuck waiting in line.

A few weeks ago I was unable to do this when I arrived shortly after midnight. Might have been a fluke, but I had to go back inside. Luckily there was no line, so no worries.

At night I was routed through the Alamo gate, it took a few minutes but she was able to handle EA without any problem.

I'm confused, you got your car and drove to the gate/cashier. You were told you had to go back inside? :confused3

No, as I got out there, there was a big sign reading something to the effect of "EA closed, please return to rental counter in terminal."

Anne

That must be something new with National. In January, I arrived at MCO after 1am and other than no cars in EA, I was able to complete my transaction at the exit booth. (I was able to get pick of the garage that night)

We arrived at 11 pm and just walked up to the counter (Alamo)..it was great because it was totally dead...no one there! Had plenty of mini vans to choose from too, everything went smoothly except for never being to Orlando before and trying to find our way to Universal in the dark....lol!
