Last Years $35 SW sale

For those that remember the seat sale last spring.....June and July $35 - $39--BUF to MCO.....What do you think are the chances of seeing anything similar for this year? It seems like the fares this year are a lot higher.

I recall puting in some dates just for fun last year and 4 roundtrip tickets were less than $400. Last year I couldn't take advantage of the deal but this year I have to be there for the first 2 weeks of July.

What do you all think?

When do you think $35 airfare will come out this year? I also saw yesterday that the July 2008 Buf - MCO departures are very expensive. I will even fly out of Detroit (or fly into Tampa or Fort Myers) if I have to get a $35 SW airfare, but it's also expensive flying SW out of Detroit in July. Last month, I was able to fly down for a pre-Christmas vacation Buf - MCO on SW for $69. When do you think the $35 airfare will come out this year, if they even offer it?

Oh remember those fares well. As my DH could not get vaction time and my DF & family couldn't afford it, I debated and debated on taking the kids myself.
I finally decided not to go and I have been kicking myself in the pants ever since.

I don't know what I will do if the cheap fares come out again this year, as we are already planning a trip in September.

I remember those fares too! We went SW in March for $54. When I saw $34 for July 2007, I told my family we were going back! I went as far as I could on the SW website to book the flights, but I chickened out at the last minute. DH and DD didn't really want to go....having just come home. And I added up all the other expenses.....so we are waiting until 2009. S

The rates do seem higher this year. I remember last year that there was a Feb 14 rate of $39. It seems that they are waiting until the flights are arounda month away to have a few days of offering the cheap flights. We are flying end of January for $69 one way which is great as far as I am concerned. Our April flights are $99. I wasn't willing to wait longer for those to go down as we are flying with 12 people and most of us are travelling on the weekends. Those flights don't seem to stay as low.

I'm hoping that they April ones come down a bit as I'll be able to use the credits in the fall.

Last February I got tickets for $52 each way....considering I only booked 14 days in advance that was a stroke of luck.

This year I can wait and book a month ahead if that's how it's going. DH wants to drive anyway

What's everyone feeling on seeing something around even $69 for this June/July?

I'm sorry to say I think the days of these types of prices are long gone (I hope I'm wrong ).
We manged to get Jetblue for August for $69 down and $89 back.
I'm quite pleased with that altough I'm sure SWA will come close.

I checked Jetblue and for my dates the fare was a minimum of $40 higher each way........multiplied by 4 tickets.......

I don't care who I fly with it just has to fit into a certain price range.
