Has anyone gone during this time? At WDW the rates drop a little and the crowds are lighter......is it the same at DL?

Will I really regret this time of year? Are the crowds and heat unbearable?

I'd love to hear from those that have been during this time so I can make my decision. The other time I'm considering is the end of June, would this be the same or any better?

The crowds will be a little lighter at the end of August vs. end of June. The weather should be about the same or perhaps a little hotter at the end of August but either way, the weather is much better either time then at WDW at the same time. You don't have the the humidity here in California. It does rain more in June than it does in August but the humidity level, even when it's raining, is still much lower than in Florida.

Thanks for the response. Are the crowds unbearable? Is it realistic to assume the large crowds would balance with longer hours to give us ample opportunity to see everything we want in 5 days? I hope that question makes sense!!!

It's been a long time since I've been there in late June but I was there the last week of August last year and I didn't think it was too bad. Hopefully someone else will reply because truthfully, I'm not the best person to ask this question. I have young children and have an annual pass so I don't go on any of the big rides and tend to go for just a few hours. I can safely say that you can do both parks in 5 days with the extended hours. You probably could even do it in less than 5 days.

We have gone the 3rd week of August the past 3 years, and it is hot, but not unbearable. Last year though it was overcast most of the time, and there wasn't as much of a crowd as the other 2 years.
