Hi, I keep checking the park hours for the last week of August hoping they will extend closing time a little bit. Animal Kingdom is now showing as closing at 11pm, meanwhile DHS remains at 8pm. Any way this is accurate? I've never seen AK opened past 5 or 6pm. :confused3

If AK is opened till 11pm, are the shows operating that late? Maybe we'd hop over there for the Lion King.

AK recently started having nighttime hours so 11pm is accurate.
DHS does not tend to be open very late no matter what time of year so right now thats accurate as well.
i'd say check back in the next couple weeks for the official hours because disney seems to update their hours about a month prior.

It's so weird to me that AK is open later than the MK several nights. Most rides and attractions are open in AK till 11pm? I guess we may hop there since everything else is closing early.

Thanks, I can't for the life of me figure out why they would keep AK open till 11pm and close MK at 9pm. I think we will hop there one evening and try to see that new Jungle Book show (we were originally planning on skipping AK this go around).

Disney has been extending hours for MK and DHS about 1/2 month ahead, so look for August hours to extend mid-July. DHS will be extended because otherwise, it would be too light out to show the fireworks or Fantasmic.

Well that would be nice. :) I wish they wouldn't wait till the last minute, with having to plan so far ahead it just makes it that much more difficult. I canceled two dinner adrs because I didn't want to waste time with the early closings, now I will try to book one or two again.

Yes, it really does stink. I sent an email to the WDW exec offices about the scheduling. I did receive two phone calls back about it. No solutions but I guess they are reading???

I complained to them two years ago about the way they waited until a month or so out to post accurate hours, while forcing us to make dinner reservations 6 months in advance. They addressed that concern by forcing us to make ride reservations 60 days in advance, and waiting until 2 weeks out to announce accurate park hours . . .. please don't ask them for any further help lol.

Well I ended up with anytime FP for every day of our trip, so I felt like it was somewhat helpful for me.... ;)

Hmmm . . . I ended up with nothing . . . next time I'm going to have you write my complaint letter lol.

At AK the last shows for Nemo and Lion King I believe are 7pm so make sure you plan that accordingly.

I was just there June 8-13. AK was great at night. With very little sun protection at that park it was nice to go when it cooled down and was dark. We ended up going to AK two nights of our trip bc we loved EE at night and it was open late. MK closed at 11 most nights and HS did have a few late nights (Extra magic hours until 11pm). We did MK until close one night and it was horrible crowd wise to get home... waited 45 mins for a bus (i know this going in but still not enjoyable) ... at AK we did both nights until close and didn't wait for a bus at all.

The tree of life show is amazing

Oh bummer about the Lion King. I was thinking we'd hop from 8p-11p. I'll be happy if we see the Tree of Life and Jungle Book shows (there are two new shows, correct?).

We haven't been there in 1.5 years and it feels like a lifetime with all the changes.

This really made me laugh.

They'll probably (almost certainly) extend closing times some, but "peak season" ends mid August and park hours scale back considerably after August 15. We often go the week before Labor Day and they usually only have one park open past 9 PM on each day (staggering parks throughout the week).

People have notice park hours have been shorter this summer, even now that they are in "peak season." I believe many are saying #ThanksShanghai
