I know late November and early December us a busy time for DVC since points are low and its nice to see the parks/resorts dedicated.

Is there any advantage you see to the last week of November vs first week of December?

I know I will need to book our trip at 11 months exactly- without walking a reservation is it near impossible to get a value studio at this time?

All the decorations for the resorts are up before Thanksgiving. So the resorts are ready. All the decorations are up in the MK before the first MVMCP. So as far as I know all the parks are decorated. There should be no difference as far as decorating of the resorts and parks are concerned during those two weeks.

By last week of November, are you talking about 11/29/2015 - 12/5/2015?
(Give or take a day), or do you mean the week before that includes thansgiving?

If you mean 12/29 vs 12/6 there is nothing significant to note. Holiday decorations will be up, crowds will be down. MVMCP will be going on plenty.

If you are talking the week of Thanksgiving, decorations will be up, as will the crowds, and points needed. MVMCP did not run until sunday after thansgiving as MK was open late for the holidays

The crowd projections on myfirstvisit have the week of 11/28 at a 3, and 12/5 as a 4

Yes! 11/29 week vs 12/5 week. Doesnt seem to make a big difference in crowds- Thank you!

I'm hoping to go this time next year and am considering the same weeks. I made it a point this year to frequently check the MDE app for MK ride wait times so I could get an idea of what the waits were actually like. What I found was both weeks were very similar with moderate waits. Through the week times fluctuated but in general there was about a 50-60 minute wait at 7DMT and 50 minutes or so at Peter Pans flight, which I like but don't understand the massive popularity. Weekends were much heavier with up to 120 minutes on 7DMT and other rides raising significantly as well. Just FYI, thanksgiving week was a lot busier.

the only difference i can think of would be if pop warner is the 12/5 week. not sure. (and probably still not a giant difference.)

Also according to myfirstvisit, pop warner week "appears to be the week of 12/5".

In my experience this can change the landscape of the value resorts (all stars), and has a mild affect at night, probably even more so at universal.

It certainly can not help crowds any, but it never seemed to hurt them much either. But it is a valid event that will increase crowds some. My guess is that it is the reason between 1 week being a 3, and one week being a 4 on their crowd calculator.

One other very trivial tidbit....this year the Sunday after thanksgiving is when MVMCP resumed. It was not a discounted night for DVC members. Certainly not a reason to factor into your decision, just an FYI

The other factor can be transportation costs and crowds.

It probably won't surprise you that the Sunday after Thanksgiving is one of the busiest travel days of the year. As a result, you might want to plan on arriving on Monday to save money on airfare and/or not fight the holiday travel crowds. -- Suzanne

Very good point! Sunday will be more expensive. Another (potential, yet costly benefit) would be the possibility to add on extra days.

I am looking at those two weeks as well, and am contemplating the first week, that way I can sneak in a few extra days during the Thanksgiving break without burning any more vacation time.

Depending on schedules, work and school if applicable, you might be able to have some flexibility with travel dates on the way down if you do the earlier week.

But as PP said, expect sunday to be more expensive thanksgiving weekend, I went down that day in 2012 and flights were more.
