We are planning a trip for the last week of June, with 4 days being spent at the parks. We'll stay onsite to get early entry and FOTL.

We went two years ago in early June and it was hot. But we're from TX, so that wasn't a shocker. We were there for early opening, stayed until noon or 1:00, went back to the hotel for a swim and lunch, then came back in the evening once the humidity level dropped. I'd have rather been there in March or April, but we made it work.

This year, the DA opening will make the crowds even worse. :scared: Am I crazy to hope we can use the same strategy (early entry, FOTL, leave at noon and come back at night) to make this a good trip? Does anyone have experience for a similar time frame after the WWOHP opening?

THANKS!

You should be fine this time too. After EE it will be very busy but you will already have that area covered. Then later at night it should calm down some.

We will be there for the week after July 4th. We give every year that time. We do the same plan, go early leave early. Back to the resort and have pool time. Wash up have dinner, return to the parks.

We are going around the same time as you and have the same game plan :). We were there for the original grand opening of WWOHP and just like PP mentioned it was crazy after early entry but we went on other rides and relaxed at the hotel and then went in the evening when things slowed down some.

W are booked HRH 28th and 29th June, when we booked our Florida holiday, I had not done any research into rides, so had no Idea about HP DA opening around this time. We are going to go at EE then return later in the evening. Just wish we had longer there

We are Also CRAZY! We are booked at Royal Pacific for 6/24-6/29. I would NOT do it without Express/Early Entry and we are also waking up early, napping/swim/lunch at the resort and hitting the rides again late at night.

Yep, everyone is on the right track. As most know we basically live in Universal Resort and do it that way on peak times without a hitch.

Call me crazy but I too plan to be there in early July. I told myself after I did Disney in August once, I would never go in the summer (never say never. Lol). But this a short weekend trip. My little cousin is a HUGE HP fan and I'm surprising her with a trip for her birthday! I'm staying onsite July 10-13 (Friday and Saturday will be full days in the park as Thursday and Sunday are travel). Will 2 days with FOTL allow me to hit all the rides and still allow for downtime at the pool in mid-day. It's just me and my 13yr old little cousin going! I plan to hit HP lands with EE!

I wonder though- if crowds will be worse with people going this year who didn't last year- saving their trip for when DA would be open. No one knows when DA will be open, just summer 2014. How many people were planning trips for this year anyway plus the people who put off last years trip to come this year for DA, plus people who are now just spur of the moment planning trips for DA....

I have a feeling this is going to be one of the busiest summers EVER at UO.

Having said this- staying onsite is the only way to go!

We ware going July 1-4, staying at. RPR, following the same type of plan others have mentioned. I'm sure it will be crazy crowded, but between early entry, express passes, and having 4 days there, I think it'll be ok. June would not be my first choice if I could avoid it, but we have to go when school's out, and June works best with DH's work schedule.
