Last week in July question

I just noticed that WDW has altered their value season for 2005. "Summer" value season is 7/5-9/28. Would this indicate that the summer crowds have started to slack up after the 4th of July? Our 25th wedding anniversary is 7/26 and I had planned to put off our trip until the week after Labor Day to avoid the crowds but now I am re-thinking my options. What are some of your experiences from the last week in July? Summer heat is not an issue....crowds are. It really would make the anniv more special to acutally be down there on the day. Any suggestions would be appreciated. pirate:

I've been both times of the year, last week of July ('04) and second week of Sept. ('02) July was far more crowded, Sept was eerily quiet!

I can't find the altered dates. Where did you find that? I checked the Disney site and found the regular season for our dates in August.

Sorry for the confusion. This website (www.wdwinfo.com) shows those dates for the Deluxe resorts only. The Value and Moderate show different dates. I haven't checked the official site. This is a first for us in a deluxe resort (because of the special occasion) so I guess I wouldn't have noticed it otherwise! That could make the room discount codes interesting for that time period with the season dates different. (All assuming that this site has not made a mistake.)

Thanks for the input laurabelle. I'm leaning heavily to September and praying for the hurricanes to have mercy this year. :wizard:

jmclester,
It did rain more heavily the yr I was there in Sept than in July. I used Tour Guide Mike for our July trip as welll as an Easter Week trip, so even though it was crowded during those times, we had very little or no wait and did everything we wanted. That being said, we go 2-3times a yr, so we never try to see it all (like you could!) But during Sept. we didn't use FP at all, walked on everything, even stayed on rides to go around again and again. If you want quiet, Sept is it!

No question, we want quiet! We've done the 4th thing, the Memorial Day thing, the Christmas/NY thing (never again) and just fininshed a November thing (I now know all about Jersey week!) where it was not too crowded but moreso than I would have thought. The kids (adults now!) will not be with us this time so we have our pick. I'm even looking beyond this anniv. trip to the next family trip to be in Jan or Feb of '06. We're really good crowd strategists but ya gotta love walking on to rides too! :cool1:

I guess rain is one of those things you just have to have the mindset that your're going to go no matter what and make the best of it. We've been very luck thus far so I'll pack the ponchos and do a sun dance!!
