Last week in April?

We will be there in a tent the last week in April-May4th. I really don't want to go out and but a small ac unit if I don't have to. Do you think an accilating fan will be enough? We have a HUGE tent with lots of ventilation.

I asked a similar question re: tenting in May, and so far the consensus is that it will be warm, but a good fan to ventilate - especially after the sun goes down and air cools off - should do the trick. You should do as well at the end of April. The only time I've been told it may get uncomfy is if you're there for the "3pm daily thunder showers" and have to close up the tent, it can get real muggy.

You both should be OK. It will be warm to hot during the day but it still cools off enough to sleep with just a fan in April and May. Late June through early September can be a real challenge without A/C. The regular afternoon thunder storms don't really get started good until mid to late June. Even after they start they may not hit the campground. You will see and hear them for sure but many times we have been rained on in MK and not get anything at the campground or vise versa.

We are also returning April 23 - April 28. In 2003 we were there for a week arriving May 11 and found the weather nearly perfect. It was upper 70s low 80s, not nearly as humid as it was in July 2004 when we visited and rained one afternoon instead of every afternoon like July.

Just replying we'll be in our tent May 1-8 and the weather sounds very promising. We last tented in Oct 2003 and found the weather perfect for a tent and are hoping early May will be the same.
