Last Trip? It was until we met Food & Wine -- Recap 2/12

Oh my word, the DIS got put in a blender over night. o_O Loved your trip report, Kat. Makes me long to get there this year. :cloud9: Can't wait to read your report after your visit in May. :)

Ok, so I'm still figuring out the new boards and not quite sure how to go through and multi-quote like I usually do. But in any case, it looks like Marco Island was a lot of fun.

The beach/pool time always looks nice and relaxing.

Nice job on Red Robin! Love that place. The onion rings always make me happy.:thumbsup2

Waffle House makes me happy too. :goodvibes

Cool! An airboat tour sounds like a lot of fun. Nice job with all the alligator and bird photos. They didn't ask for volunteers to hold the gator's mouth open?

Ok, so I'm still figuring out the new boards and not quite sure how to go through and multi-quote like I usually do.

On the multi-quote option at the bottom of each post is a +Quote next to the reply if you select that on each post that you want to multi quote when you go and reply it will bring all the ones you selected and you can edit out what you want to quote. It is a nice feature and will take a little to get used to.

All caught up with the trip report. Looks like you had a fabulous Food and Wine trip. Still my favorite time of the year to go. Guessing I won't be seeing it again soon, though. Looks like your time in Marco is wonderfully relaxing. Just what is needed after a busy WDW vacation.

I'm reading about your days on Marco Island while we're having another snowstorm here. Your pictures look like heaven right about now - so warm and relaxing!

The gator show looks like fun!

I really love your tradition of giving a balloon to a child in memory of your dad. Reading about it gets me a little teary eyed. I don't think that no matter how long time passes, it affects us just as much as when they left us.
Wow..... that dessert is something else!! Was that a brownie underneath all that whip??
OOO... i LOVE Waffle House!!! I just wish they had more seating for larger parties but just love them! I always get my hash browns topped with chili... yummm!
Marco Island looks so pretty!!

Just hit the +Quote at the bottom of the post you want to quote and when you are ready to reply go to the reply box and it the more options button. It will take you to a page more like what we are used to seeing. at the bottom of that screen should be an Insert Quotes button. click that.

Let me join the testing and say that I am all caught up here again. :lmao:
You got some great pics on Marco Island. I know it was not quite the visit you expected (Nicki having to leave) but you still seem to enjoy yourself.

Nice pics in France. Now I can go for Escargot being I saw it on the menu.

Looked like a nice day there. Nice gift from Tim and family.

Love Figment. Nice relaxing ride and fun too.

Nice pics around the resort, thanks being it is in the running for September.

Nice pics around MK. Love the pic of you on Buzz. LOL.

Love the PP pics in Fantastland.

Looked like a great last day at MK.

Glad you gave a balloon away.

The onion stack looked good.

Ooh I will take marks dessert. YUM!

I could never get close to a gator like that guy. YIKES!

Nice pics from around the island.

I am all caught up again.

Oh that beach. I'm just going to sit here and stare at that beach and turn my heat up until I feel like I'm there.
Cool! I've always wanted to do an air boat tour! The gator demo looks really interesting too.
Beautiful pictures!

Love the picture. Great one. We will be in that area in about two weeks. Ft. Myers Beach. Can't Wait!

And I hate this new DIS.

Oh, that looks DELICIOUS!!!

Darla, it was very delicious.

I wanna do what this bird is doing -- just plop my butt down in the sand and sit there!!!

That bird must have thought I had food because he did not leave my side.

my goodness that was quite the storm. Glad you still got in some pool and beach time.

Yes; we would have that type of storm almost every afternoon around 3 p.m.

Love vacations where the tasks for one day consists of "Pool" and then the next day has "Beach"

Can't believe that life, can you?

Great that you got together with Nicki and then with her and Todd - I am sure that was nice.

It's always good to spend time with my little sis and Todd.

Wonder what that gator is thinking during the show "I don't get it, he does this every day! I don't mess with his mouth"

I'm not sure what those gators think OR Chris who was doing it.

I love the picture of Mark and Nicki (and sad that you didn't get a picture with Nicki :()

I was sad too; but I'll have ample opportunities in May.

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! It's always very nice to have pool day and beach day back-to-back!

It's the best life, Sarah. I love it.

Ah the beach! What a way to recover from a Disney Trip eh? :rotfl::rotfl2:

Isn't it though? I think EVERY Disney trip should end like that.

Oh wow, that's a lot of onion rings! Jim and I love Red Robin but unfortunately the closest one is over an hour from us.

We have one in our mall 5 minutes away but we rarely go to it...the service is terrible.

Looks like you had some nice relaxing days at the pool and beach.

We did...we love our down time after all the hustle at Disney.

Man you are making me hungry today. The Waffle House looks yummy.

I could go for Waffle House right about now.

OK, that guy with the gator is a bit crazy. I'm glad you enjoyed the airboat tour. Jim and I are doing one next week.

We love watching Gator Boys on television when they capture the gators; and they sometimes have this "show" on their show. They are nuts...you wouldn't catch me doing any of that. I hope you enjoy your airboat tour. We really had a good time.

I'm glad that you and Mark got to see Nicki. Even if you didn't get much photographic evidence. I know you really enjoy your time with her.

Your weekend looks like it was nice and relaxing. It would be really cool to tour the Everglades like that. Nothing like seeing a gator swimming along side your boat! :scared:

I can't believe Mark rubbing the gator didn't help him at the casino. I thought you guys always win? :rolleyes1 Maybe he should have handled a real gator instead.

We are headed down September 22 and will be at WDW until October 3rd. We (My Mark and I) are taking my 4 year old and my 13 year old niece for their first trip. Woo hoo!

We will miss you. :( I don't arrive until October 18. How fun...first trips for the kids. :)

More awesome pics Kathy! The bird ones you just posted are so cool. Sounds like y'all had a nice relaxing first couple of days- shopping, pool, beach, and with great company... what more can a girl want?:thumbsup2

Thank you. It was the best of times...love being with my sis.

Beautiful!:thumbsup2

Thank you.

Hmmmmm - let's see - who is more interesting to look at - Chris or the alligator! I totally pick Chris. I would go just to see him! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

That's too funny. When we got off the airboat tour and walked over to the show and I saw who it was I got a big grin on my face. Mark asked why. I said "It's Chris." He's not hard on the eyes at all. :)

How did that onion ring stack NOT fall over????? Seriously???? OK - I know there had to be a stick in there or something. But Wow!

She carried it with two hands to the table. Yes, I think there was some kind of support in the middle.

I didn't realize your pool was so close to the water.

There are two pools at the condo. A big pool which we never use and then this smaller one which we go to all the time because it is right by the water and we often see the dolpins and stingrays when they jump up into the air.

Those pics are just what I need this morning to help cure the winter blues.

These winter blues are getting harder all the time.

And Nicky is just so darn cute!

Isn't she though?

Missed an update-

Was that before or after the change on the DIS? lol

Beautiful flowers.

The flowers there are gorgeous...no matter what month we are there.

Beautiful sailboat.

One day I want to go out on one.

Beautiful water.

Thanks...I was happy with the pictures of the water this trip.

Beautiful tans!

It helped having a couple of trips to Disney last year with the tanning.

And great foliage on the airboat tour.

I wish I could have gotten more, but that boat goes pretty darn fast.

Calgon - PLEASE TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!! You're killing me here! :faint:

Oh my....that sounds heavenly.

Nice wrap up to your final day and saying your “goodbyes” to Disney! I love your and Mark’s shirts. :thumbsup2 Okay, so you posted the prices on the Jim Shore items, but I have no clue what goes with the price and if it is a reasonably good deal??? A “Sitting Goofy” for $22 sounds like a bargain, regardless. ::yes:: And the way you are with lottery scratch offs, that Tigger is as good as yours………….:rotfl2:

Aren't those the best shirts? It could be $222 and you'd get a Sitting Goofy.

I love eating at The Plaza; they have great burgers and fries and my meal is always enjoyable there. Eating your final meal there, along with your balloon gifting of some lucky child in honor of your Dad are great traditions. I always love hearing about that part of your trip, even though it always comes at the end. :goodvibes Love the selfie on the Monorail, and yes, pathetic is probably a good description. :rolleyes1 ;) Nice that you had Cookie along to keep you company during the rain storm, but :woohoo: that you finally saw some sun breaking through as you made it back to Marco and the next part of your journey!

Thanks, Marv. It's become a lovely tradition for us. We are pathetic old people. It was nice that we entered Marco without rain.

Okay, Mark isn’t supposed to look as happy hugging Nicki as he is when he’s riding Dumbo! (although I certainly understand……….) :rolleyes2 I’ve never had the onion stack at Red Robin. :scared1: That is just impressive! :yay: How great to be relaxing in the sun by the pool. So glad that storm changed back to the clear skies so you could enjoy. Beautiful views of the beach and the marina. And :cool1: for another trip to the Awful Waffle (at least for you since I know you love it). That air boat tour of the Everglades sounds like a lot of fun. Glad those things don’t often turn over. As for the gator show, I guess it’s good he didn’t get his arm in that mouth when it closed or it would have turned into Rice Krispies………snap……….crackle, POP!

Trust me, if he had a choice it would be Nicki over Dumbo any day. I called Nicki on Saturday and Mark talked to her first. Let's just say I wasn't sure I'd ever get the phone back. We had great pool/beach days this trip, and I love my Waffle House as you know. I'm so glad that we did the Everglades tour. Trust me, when he first sped up the boat I was a little worried. That was bad, Marv.

Lots of really good birds, flowers and Everglades pics in your additional posts, and great pictures of you and Mark, and Nicki and Todd too! :lovestruc So glad you got the rest of them in PB so you could share. :)

Thank you...glad you enjoyed them.

I'm reading about your days on Marco Island while we're having another snowstorm here. Your pictures look like heaven right about now - so warm and relaxing!

Thanks, Sarah. You got the snow we had? It was hot, but very relaxing.

The gator show looks like fun!

It really was. They are brave souls.

Figuring my way around this newness. :o

You and me both. I know how to multi-quote, but for some reason, the last person I quote (Sarah above) always ends up first and last. I have deleted first in the past, but this time just left it until I figure it out.

Marco looks so peaceful and WARM!!!!! We do not have the unending winter here ( I moved away from THAT) but the sun and warmth is so nice. :beach:

I can't wait to move away from it...it has become quite annoying to say the least. >:(

Looks like a wonderful Airboat tour and the alligator guy is .... interesting.

He's very interesting to look at.

Glad you found more pictures and actual have one with you and Nicki. Despite the daily rain a very nice slow re-entry to the real world by visiting Marco and Nicki and Todd.

I don't have one with me and Nicki, just Mark and Nicki. But I did get Nicki and Todd. It's always good to have downtime with them before reality sets back in.

i really have no idea if i missing something? This new Dis has me Dizzy...
Hence my new avitar. plus i ahve been demoted to a Mouseketeer!
Anyway.. I just loved your pictures with the Gator BOYS!!! The gator hanging out in the background cracked me up.

I'm learning it, but I'm not sure I love it yet. I kept keeping one eye on that gator in the background wondering if he was going to sneak up on Chris.

Also the picture of the bird is AWESOME! great clarity! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Mo...that means a lot coming from you.

Onion ring from Red Robin... YUMMMMMMMMMM

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Oh my word, the DIS got put in a blender over night. o_O Loved your trip report, Kat. Makes me long to get there this year. :cloud9: Can't wait to read your report after your visit in May. :)

Tracy, thank you so much for reading. I am really hoping that you and Mark get there. There will be a TR for May and October and possibly a third one. ;)

Ok, so I'm still figuring out the new boards and not quite sure how to go through and multi-quote like I usually do. But in any case, it looks like Marco Island was a lot of fun.

I figured it out and a few have explained it here so I hope you figure it out. Marco Island was fun...as always.

The beach/pool time always looks nice and relaxing.

Mark is the big pool/beach person. He could sit there 8 hours a day. I can handle a couple of hours.

Nice job on Red Robin! Love that place. The onion rings always make me happy.:thumbsup2

This was first time I had the onion rings...they were really good.

Waffle House makes me happy too. :goodvibes

You, Barry and I share that love.

Cool! An airboat tour sounds like a lot of fun. Nice job with all the alligator and bird photos. They didn't ask for volunteers to hold the gator's mouth open?

They did offer to let us hold a baby alligator. I had no interest and Mark passed since he had done it a few years ago at a place we were with Nicki and Todd.

On the multi-quote option at the bottom of each post is a +Quote next to the reply if you select that on each post that you want to multi quote when you go and reply it will bring all the ones you selected and you can edit out what you want to quote. It is a nice feature and will take a little to get used to.

Thanks, Esther. This was a big help to me.

All caught up with the trip report. Looks like you had a fabulous Food and Wine trip. Still my favorite time of the year to go. Guessing I won't be seeing it again soon, though. Looks like your time in Marco is wonderfully relaxing. Just what is needed after a busy WDW vacation.

Thanks, Linda. I was really hoping you would be planning a trip this year. Marco was wonderful; I always feel very refreshed after being there.
