Last Trip? It was until we met Food & Wine -- Recap 2/12

Look at Mark smoozing with the ladies when you turn your back. ;) Sounds so much like something my husband would do. :rolleyes1

Your traditions of eating at the Plaza and giving away the balloon in memory of your father always make me smile. It's so sweet of you to do that for a child and I know that it makes your father smile too.

Looking forward to hearing about your time in Marco.

It was Saturday morning, September 27, and it was time to see my little sis, my Nicki. Mark drove us to Dunkin' Donuts where I would meet Nicki for us to go shopping as we do every trip.

This is the ONLY picture I got of Nicki with Mark (and never did get one with Nicki and me :().

He sure was happy to see his Nicki.

Nicki and I left Mark in the dust and drove to the malls. We had lunch at Red Robin and got the Onion Stack. This was to die for.

After shopping, Nicki drove me back to the condo so I could take in my purchases and freshen up and we would meet her and Todd at the Chinese Buffet that we love for dinner in a few hours (we love the buffet because they have ALL YOU CAN EAT crab legs on Saturday night).

The view from the balcony during the calm

And after the calm

It did this almost every single day!!!

On Sunday, it was pool day

Walking back to the condo for lunch we saw some feathered-friends

Monday was beach day

Mark collecting seashells

Me just chilling with my music

We stopped at Starbucks after lunch and this is where a lot of more expensive houses and boats are kept

Not sure where this dinner was, but this was someone's dessert

Monday morning was here for breakfast

And then we drove to the Everglades

Continued in next post

We bought our tickets, made a bio-break stop and then checked in for our airboat tour.

Here are pictures from the tour

Then it was time to go see a demonstration from one of the Gator Boys with one of these guys

We had Chris from the show

I'll just let the pictures do the talking

We loved the tour and the show and plan to do it again on a future trip.

On the way home we stopped at the Casino

Mark though this might help...it did not

I'll end here and finish up next week on the rest of Marco Island

Gotta love our men, Lisa.

Your traditions of eating at the Plaza and giving away the balloon in memory of your father always make me smile. It's so sweet of you to do that for a child and I know that it makes your father smile too.

Thanks, Lisa. It is hard to beleive it will be seven years this August.

Looking forward to hearing about your time in Marco.

Just posted an update on that.

my goodness that was quite the storm. Glad you still got in some pool and beach time.

Love vacations where the tasks for one day consists of "Pool" and then the next day has "Beach"

Great that you got together with Nicki and then with her and Todd - I am sure that was nice.

Wonder what that gator is thinking during the show "I don't get it, he does this every day! I don't mess with his mouth"

I love the picture of Mark and Nicki (and sad that you didn't get a picture with Nicki :()

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! It's always very nice to have pool day and beach day back-to-back!

Oh wow, that's a lot of onion rings! Jim and I love Red Robin but unfortunately the closest one is over an hour from us.

Looks like you had some nice relaxing days at the pool and beach.

Man you are making me hungry today. The Waffle House looks yummy.

OK, that guy with the gator is a bit crazy. I'm glad you enjoyed the airboat tour. Jim and I are doing one next week.

Thank you so much for posting...I love having new readers post. I'm glad you enjoyed, and I'm delighted you went out and bought the shirts...every couple in love should have them. When are you going?
We are headed down September 22 and will be at WDW until October 3rd. We (My Mark and I) are taking my 4 year old and my 13 year old niece for their first trip. Woo hoo!

I hadn't realized that I had downloaded all of my photos from the trip but had NOT uploaded them all to Photobucket. So hear are the rest of the pictures from those first couple of days on Marco:

More awesome pics Kathy! The bird ones you just posted are so cool. Sounds like y'all had a nice relaxing first couple of days- shopping, pool, beach, and with great company... what more can a girl want?:thumbsup2

We had Chris from the show

Hmmmmm - let's see - who is more interesting to look at - Chris or the alligator! I totally pick Chris. I would go just to see him! :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

How did that onion ring stack NOT fall over????? Seriously???? OK - I know there had to be a stick in there or something. But Wow!

I didn't realize your pool was so close to the water.

Those pics are just what I need this morning to help cure the winter blues.

And Nicky is just so darn cute!

Missed an update-

Beautiful flowers.

Beautiful sailboat.

Beautiful water.

Beautiful tans!

And great foliage on the airboat tour.

Calgon - PLEASE TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!! You're killing me here! :faint:

Nice wrap up to your final day and saying your “goodbyes” to Disney! I love your and Mark’s shirts. :thumbsup2 Okay, so you posted the prices on the Jim Shore items, but I have no clue what goes with the price and if it is a reasonably good deal??? A “Sitting Goofy” for $22 sounds like a bargain, regardless. ::yes:: And the way you are with lottery scratch offs, that Tigger is as good as yours………….:rotfl2:

I love eating at The Plaza; they have great burgers and fries and my meal is always enjoyable there. Eating your final meal there, along with your balloon gifting of some lucky child in honor of your Dad are great traditions. I always love hearing about that part of your trip, even though it always comes at the end. :goodvibes Love the selfie on the Monorail, and yes, pathetic is probably a good description. :rolleyes1 ;) Nice that you had Cookie along to keep you company during the rain storm, but :woohoo: that you finally saw some sun breaking through as you made it back to Marco and the next part of your journey!

Okay, Mark isn’t supposed to look as happy hugging Nicki as he is when he’s riding Dumbo! (although I certainly understand……….) :rolleyes2 I’ve never had the onion stack at Red Robin. :scared1: That is just impressive! :yay: How great to be relaxing in the sun by the pool. So glad that storm changed back to the clear skies so you could enjoy. Beautiful views of the beach and the marina. And :cool1: for another trip to the Awful Waffle (at least for you since I know you love it). That air boat tour of the Everglades sounds like a lot of fun. Glad those things don’t often turn over. As for the gator show, I guess it’s good he didn’t get his arm in that mouth when it closed or it would have turned into Rice Krispies………snap……….crackle, POP!

Lots of really good birds, flowers and Everglades pics in your additional posts, and great pictures of you and Mark, and Nicki and Todd too! :lovestruc So glad you got the rest of them in PB so you could share. :)

Now that you posted the rest of your final day in MK I can see why we missed bumping into you. We started at the Pirates of the Caribbean that morning and ended at the People Mover while you went in the opposite direction. We found that PP photographer that did the special shots with the crab in front of Little Mermaid on our recent trip. :thumbsup2

You looks like you are ready to retire to Marco Island now. It is a beautiful place. ::yes::

Figuring my way around this newness. :o

Marco looks so peaceful and WARM!!!!! We do not have the unending winter here ( I moved away from THAT) but the sun and warmth is so nice. :beach:

Looks like a wonderful Airboat tour and the alligator guy is .... interesting.

Glad you found more pictures and actual have one with you and Nicki. Despite the daily rain a very nice slow re-entry to the real world by visiting Marco and Nicki and Todd.

i really have no idea if i missing something? This new Dis has me Dizzy...
