I am finally home! This has been my longest day this week! DD had middle school open house tonight and I had choir rehearsal. I can't believe my baby is going to middle school next year! I'm excited for her though!
I have a 5th grader going into MS next year too :thumbsup2

Well hi you old thing :rotfl2: seriously it flies doesn't it....get this my grandson will be 10 this June my youngest DD will be 34 :scared1: this July and my oldest DD will be 36 :scared1: this Oct....still want to be friends with this "old crone ?"

princess::upsidedow is doing one last to post.

Shutting down now...OMG...I'm going cold turkey :scared:. Deliberately not taking any technology on holiday with us.

Don't get too comfortable all...I'll be back, either in Take 9, 10, 11, 12 or infinity.

I like the way they had it set up. When we arrived, they had current 6th graders from the student council giving tours. So we joined in with a small group and toured the entire school. (All three floors!) After the tours, we were split into three groups. We rotated to different areas and were given different information like how a typical day goes for 6th graders and what classes they are required to take. Of course I know all of this because I've been registering the 5th graders at my school all month for middle school. At the end, we went to the gym where they had stations set up. DD and I went to the band station since she is signing up to play the flute! Overall, it was pretty exciting. I'm just exhausted!! :faint:

ha! Our 6th grade orientation goes like this:

sit on the hard bleachers in the gym
watch a powerpoint presentation
go home
:rotfl::rotfl:

So, here's your chance....

Your mission, should you choose to accept it Jim, is to post at least 6 pages per day so that princess::upsidedow will come back to the new Take 10 thread. This message may self destruct in 10 seconds....

Ruthie, I know you love Chef Micky's, but what other places have you eaten? I'm trying to decide if I want to spend my money for one table service. Our Quick Service dining plan is free. I'm trying to decide if I should try someplace new, or just go with an old favorite since I'm not using a dining plan to pay for it.

We've done the following:

Ohana (B and D)
Hoop De Doo
Boma (D)
Crystal Palace (B and D)
Chef Mickey's (B and D)
Hollywood and Vine (D)
Cinderella's Royal Table (B)
and Donald's Breakfastosaurus (Back when they called it that)

That's all I can think of right now...

We've eaten at all your above except Hollywood and Vine.
We've also eaten at:
Le Cellier: we love LC. DH would eat there every night if we let him
Biertengarten: had breakfast there with the Princesses on our first trip ever. DH thinks he wants to do it again this trip since it will be our 10th trip
Garden Grill: loved this place. tons of character interaction...but the last time we went our server/service was horrible and the manager didn't care :confused3
Plaza restaurant: we enjoyed this, but I won't go again for a full meal with the kids
SciFi: ok food, nice atmosphere
50's Prime Time: can be tons of fun if you get the right server... if not you feel left out :rotfl:
Whispering Canyon: the kids love it. DH loves the skillet, kids love unlimited shakes
Rose and Crown: sat outside right on the edge and watched illuminations! It was cold and AMAZING!! the food was really good.
Kona cafe: I really like Kona, the kids are so-so about it.

For our last trip we said we were only going to do two TS since we did the QSP.

The kids voted for Whispering Canyon and Rose and Crown

Are you going to have a car??

Now that the majority of my kids are considered adults we AVOID the buffets. There is no way my mac & cheese/chicken finger kids will eat enough of that at Chef Mickey's to warrant me paying $30+ per kid! We go to regular menu restaurants now and the kids just get what they want. That is another reason we don't do the regular dining plan anymore also.

You know what I highly recommend ? & it won't break the bank at all.if you can ..In DTD is Earl of Sandwich ever been? Everything is homemade right there & it is fantastic. DH & I have been known to drive there (its abt 25 miles one way) just to eat.

I keep hearing EOS is good as well as W. Puck Cafe. I put WPC on my list on our DTD day already for free dining. I'll have to study the menus some more. Once DD finds out about the trip on her 5th grade graduation day, I'll let her look on and help me decide between the two menus. She's a picky one!

we've done EOS, it's sandwiches... nothing special to us.

We did the WGP express this past trip and didn't really enjoy it. We had even made a special trip to DTD for it. Oh well... live and learn.

If you can get there..... Pepper Market was GREAT!! We totally loved it!! It seems like a food court kinda place. Really good food, most made to order right in front of you. The pizzas were insanely huge... two of my kids got them, but they really should have just shared one. We went there twice this past trip.

We've also eaten at
ESPN club: normal food, but the boys love all the sports stuff
Cape May Cafe: had Thanksgiving dinner there one year. it was a nice meal and fun characters
Beaches and Cream: no food, but we did get the kitchen sink!!! So much FUN!! and no we didn't finish it :rotfl:

ok seriously... don't get me started on talking Disney stuff... now I am late for getting ready for work!! :lmao:

I'm so gonna tell my Principal it was Ness' fault!!

Garden Grill- That's the one I forgot. We've done that one too. Good point on the buffet issue. I've got a mac-n-cheese/chicken finger eater as well!:sad2: I personally like the variety. I am good at getting my DD to make a variety of choices in order to get to the dessert area of the buffet! (Which is most important to her!)
