Hi, ladies! How are you guys doing?

I started my Netflix account back up on Friday, and ordered the Wii streaming disc, too. I spent a good chunk of last night explaining to my parents how to use it and that no, I'm not being charged by movie. They love it now that they understand how it works :rotfl: We were building up the instant queue and now have a ton of old movies, alongside all nine seasons of The X-Files (my favorite show EVER).

Then I got to work tonight and there was a birthday card from the facility owners sitting at the desk for me! Inside was a Starbucks card for $20! I wasn't expecting anything at all (a couple other employees have had birthdays since we opened in November, and as far as I know, they didn't get anything), so it was a huge surprise :goodvibes I don't drink coffee, but I do love their coffee-free drinks. And THEN one of the day shift ladies hands me this little white card and tells me that I can have it and to look it up online and see what it is, because she had no idea. It turned out to be a $100 gift card for a website called Dining Dough, which I then used to redeem four $25 gift certificates for four different restaurants here in Chicago.

And if the Blackhawks win tonight, they get the Stanley Cup :teeth:

Quick! Run out and buy a lottery ticket as well!! FANTASTIC!! It's nice to be appreciated like this.

So, you'll be spending your time watching your downloads rather than being here?

I loved the X Files too. Didn't think much of the big screen movies, though.

:rotfl::rotfl: I'm at work and don't have any cash, so no lotto tickets for me tonight :) Maybe I'll stop and get one tomorrow before work :teeth:

Well, with the Wii, I can stream it on my TV, and I can always watch in another window if I do it on the computer, so I will be around :hippie:

The X-Files are what made me love sci-fi :goodvibes Plus, it doesn't hurt that I've had a crush on Nicholas Lea (the guy who played Krycek) since I was 14 years old :lovestruc I would've been happier with the movies if they'd found some way to have Krycek in them. I sort of sometimes have a habit of watching movies just for the eye candy :3dglasses

What do you mean??? Isn't it all just about the eye candy? You mean you actually watch a movie for the story line???? :rotfl2:

:lmao: Depending on the storyline, yeah ;) The funny thing is that sometimes I'll watch a movie for one piece of eye candy, but then get completely stuck on another piece of eye candy. Case in point, The Losers. I wanted to see it for Jeffrey Dean Morgan, but not even a minute in, I completely fell in love with Chris Evans. I love geeky boys, and his character was just adorable to me :lovestruc

I'm into the Twilight movies at the moment - just like the books, can't decide between the Pattinson and Lautner. Pure eye candy...and they are both way too young for me! :rotfl2:

And I just googled JDM and CE - I haven't seen The Losers - as I was curious. Yes, I think I'd have the same dilemma with these two boys too...

I think I'm the only person on the planet who's NOT into Twilight  I just think that the writing is really really poorly done, but that's just my opinion. There are a lot people who can't stand my two favorite writers (Stephen King and Clive Barker). I "watched" the movie of Twilight for the pure and simple reason that it had Cam Gigandet in it, but I was playing on my computer any time he wasn't on the screen.

I adore JDM :lovestruc I've had a crush on him since I first saw him on Supernatural in the first season (we're going into the sixth now). I'd never heard of Chris Evans before I saw The Losers, and then sort of went on a binge of his movies :rolleyes1

The Twilight books are about average. I've read better and I've read worse.

I've only read WeaveWorld from Clive Barker years ago and am sad to say that I don't even remember much of it.

Stephen King is a bit too gory for my tastes and I used to go to sleep and have nightmares after reading his books. About the only two books that didn't give me nightmares was The Eyes of the Dragon and The Dead Zone (and I love the series on TV but don't get much of a chance to watch it).

In the fantasy genre, one of my favourite writers is/was Raymond Feist. Problem is that I think his later books are just stretching out/cashing in on what was a pretty original idea and the story lines seem pretty tired.

I'm into Janet Evanovich and Stephanie Plum books at the moment. Pretty light reading but that's about all I can handle for now.

9.35 pm in Oz. It's dark and cold (well, cold by Melbourne standards). I'm off to work tomorrow, so I'll be turning in shortly.
On the plus side, we have a long weekend this weekend...Queen's birthday public holiday. But her real birthday is in April.
The ski season officially kicks off this weekend. It's been cold and wet; so there is actually about 10 cm of snow on the ski fields.

DD is gone to Grandpa's until I can get there on Monday. Everything went well. She was sad and cried some when it was over. (Also when she had to leave me to go to Grandpa's...) She is excited about her Disney surprise and only worried that I would want her to ride RnR which she fears the thought of. Of course she doesn't have to worry about that. (Mom is the thrill seeker in this relationship! :) )

Can't wait until the end of the school day in a hour and a half. The music teacher always plays the Hallelujah Chorus over the intercom system after the bell!:rotfl:

Now that she knows the real planning can begin! I LOVE your music teacher :lmao: so take it easy this weekend so you get all healed ! (I answered your PM)
