I know. It really burns me up.

And the way our stupid company is - in order to use your sick days you have to use 5 consecutive days AND you have to have a doctor's note AND you have to use the 5 during a work week.

So, she made a doctor's appointment for last Wednesday, which is the beginning of our work week. And she managed to get a doctor's note for it. But, mind you, she bruised her tailbone skating 3 weeks ago. And she's sure she'll be able to be back to work next Wednesday. Was that planned well or what!

WHAT?!?! Not everyone is sick for five consecutive days. What in the world!? So if you aren't feeling well on day, you can't just take that one day?

Well I work tonight too-but I work the entire night

I only have to work 4-1/2 hours and it's a cashier shift ---easy. And we're expecting snow Tuesday so between regular Saturday night beer runs, a snow scare and the superbowl tomorrow we should stay pretty busy and it should go by quickly.

And I have broken it to the boss that if I need to have surgery for my hand the doctor said I'll be out three to four weeks. He said he'll have to see what we can work out. Believe me - we will work something out!

And don't feel guilty about it at all So you are going ahead with surgery???

Well I survived the sleep over-they were exhausted from the Party(go karting/video games) and they were all asleep by 1:30am

But heard from FIL that my SIL with cancer is not doing too good-nearly bed ridden and her Husband doesn't help to keep the house clean at all-such a jerk

She is young - only 20.

And the only reason that she is a front-end manager is because she was the only one around that could work 40 hours when our other front-end manager left (i.e. - got arrested) a year-and-a-half ago. This girl is a good worker, usually, but she's a college student and I have to work around her class schedule (which I found out she's been lying about too). Boss only promoted her because her mom also works at the store - in another department - and he really likes her mom. Thing is - he told her she was being promoted to front-end manager - but he only coded her in the computer as a full-time bookkeeper. So, it's like he gave her some authority without really giving her the real title - or the money!

OK-nap time is fast approaching-only 3 kids left here to get home-so hopefully they'll be nice and quiet while I get a nice nap in

Sure - most people can take just one day (but not me)! But it's without pay!

Isn't that the dumbest thing you've ever heard of.

We get five sick days a year - we can only accumulate 28 sick days. And we can only use them in 5 day blocks - and only if those five days are in a work week. It stinks!

I have an appointment on Thursday and I guess we'll see then. The cortisone injection did absolutely nothing. So, I'm really ready to go ahead with the surgery.
