I wanted to go to the celebrity golf tournament in tahoe but now we arent going.

Every year they do something different. I wasnt sure there was going to be a fair. The place where its held they wanted to move the sacto kings ( basketball team ) over there. that would of put an end to the fair. Now they may leave.

Now the Kings may leave because they didn't get a new arena?

I'm back. Decided that as it was twilight zone time, I'd get on the bike and just went to the local velodrome and did about 2 miles ride.

I'm familiar with BHP. So who owns the mining rights? Does it go to AU or to the UK or to the Queen?

BHP owns the mining rights. They pay the AU government for the rights and the AU government pays the Queen some stipend. Not sure how much....but I think that's part of being the commonwealth.

As BHP Billiton has HQ in Australia, they pay corporate tax to the Australian Tax Office, which the tax is based on Net Profit after Tax.

They would also pay tax in the various countries that they mine in. That would be part of the negotiation they would have with the various governments as part of the mining rights; or the contracts in place when they buy the various companies.

I know...just irked me the 'compromise' terminology...

Sacramento. Yes it is popular but for the past few years we have a some issues so they keep moving the dates back. It used to run into labor day weekend. It runs 17 days. Last year it was in mid aug now it is in July way to hot

Is it still about agriculture? 4H displays and rides?

The Woodchopping is the highlight for me
We get USA and Canada competitors in it now but our wood is MUCH harder and they just don't get through it many times.

Well the Maloofs say they are in debt. Yeah right they own the palms hotel in Vegas. Not sure there is so much of this and that with them. who knows what they will do.

The Melbourne equivalent is the Royal Melbourne Show. We've gone for the last 2 years with DS...I make sure he goes milk a cow and sees the horses and chooks (chickens).

I like going to see the dogs and cats.

Oh yes all of that. I love seeing all the animals. They bring in the pigs and cows that are ready for delivery and if your there at the right time you can see them born

I've been talking 'shop' and business for Skiingfast. It's put me into a semi-work frame of mind. When I have my business hat on, I'm not here to make friends. I'm here to get the job done and for the hard truths.

Are the carnival ride permanent or do they all travel? Some look pretty serious.

Maybe a negotiation tactic. Didn't the Palms just build another tower a couple years ago?
