Really? Can't wait for you to update your TR to find out why!! :thumbsup2

OK well...as to why I like this hotel better, we have a car and it doesn't cost $35 a day to Valet park it, the kitchen is Waaaay better stocked as far as tupperwares, a collander and we have 2 not 1 pot holders, plus measuring cups, spoons and a corkscrew (although I already bought wine that doesn't need a corkscrew since I did not anticipate such a luxury).

However, I would like to kvetch a little. There is really nothing I can kvetch about. My relationship with Fran has afforded me many luxuries that most people cannot boast. We can purchase groceries without worry as to if we can afford them, I can purchase clothing, we can keep our vehicles in good repair, and there is not much of anything that we need that can not be purchased. However from Dec 2004 - Dec 2009 we were "on call" meaning crazy parents want, we jump, and jump we did at all hours of the night, for the most bizzarre of reasons to the most necessary of reasons.

Since her father's passing she has been able to complete the knee surgeries that she needed and things have started to improve in that she helps out with stuff. That has meant that we can actually take vacations again and go to places other than WDW. So we've been overdoing it here in DC. However yesterday we decided to take it easy. So she slept in this morning, we checked out around noon. We headed to a battlefield where I did all the directions to the driving tour. Then we headed to the hotel, but stopped at a grocery store where I went in a bought the groceries. Then after we checked in, she slept while I brought in the bags. Then I did laundry while making dinner for tonight and tomorrow night.

I'm pretty sure that she will not complain if I say I need rest tomorrow, but ugh! I need some rest here too! I gave y'all Julia, so if I don't check in for a while forgive me! Although we are having dinner in tomorrow and I've already made the sauce so who knows!

No promblem, we will have part 13 ready for you ;).

It's great that you stopped by here to give a quick update. Plus that always reminds me to click through your signature and check the TR!

Sleep well Alison.

I'm curious why Australia still accepts this comprimise of being held as a commonwealth?

I wonder probably because I am a descendent of people who kicked our foreign oppressors out once, and then defened ourselves from them again.

I did have a good Canadian friend in college, and he said it was because England would forcefully defend Canada if need be.

I don't know about PIO but I don't plan to 'defend' this so called 'compromise'. Although I'll tell you a few things...

Can you please tell me what we don't have that you do?
We have a many flawed systems because of choices made NOT by the Crown but by elected governments. The Queen doesn't rule us. She's a figurehead.

Our health system isn't perfect but it's a sure fire better than yours. I'm currently jobless because my SPECIFIC industry is in a slow down due to the GFC (not caused by us....but by a lack of regulation in the USA.)
But our jobless rate is a heck lower than yours.

I don't want to start a debate on who's better...but please tell me how we are in a 'compromise' :confused3

The costs ALONE of changing to a republic aren't worth it to me. I'd rather that money spent on our health system and infrastructure.

Ok got to get back to hiding little chocolate eggs. TTYL.

Instead of saying why US healthcare is better, I'll just say the only thing wrong with it is inflation.

Why would the cost of going independent be too high? Who's shouldering the burden now and what are they getting in exchange?

Change in Money, Flags, etc etc...
This will cost a FORTUNE!!!

Doesn't the money get changed often enough that it wouldn't matter? Plus don't the flags come down at night?
They all need to be redesigned...time and money
They then need to implement and create new systems.

We are not forced under some dictatorship regime.
There is NOTHING wrong with being a Commonwealth country. I'm proud of it and there IS NO COMPROMISE as a result.

I trust you've never been here or learnt Australian History so I'd keep out of trying to say that we are under a compromised system.
It's nothing like when you decided to have your civil war

I know nothing about your country but could you explain in short what do you mean by compromised? Just trying to learn something.

Wait a second, Like I said, your money is redisgned every now and then without any change in government sovreignty right?

Also you already have a flag, I believe it's a mesh of strait lines shoved into the corner and a large constelation of stars probably the Southern Cross. Or is that the other island thate Cook claimed, New Zealand?
