I don't want to spoil my limited food porn for my TR thread, but we stopped off at Union Station where they have the biggest food court I've ever seen. We're in the bookstore now because dummie here forgot to pack our guidebooks. DOH! :headache: But while it is fresh in my mind, I'll list your choices: sushi, Indian cuisine, Southern BBQ/Chinese, Italian pizza/gelato, Great Steak & Potato Co., Greek cuisine, New York Deli, Cajun/Chinese, Subway, Ben & Jerry's, Teriyaki bowl, Taco Bell, Bojangles Fried Chicken, Larry's Cookies, Nothing but Donuts, Smoothies, Pretzels, and Johnny Rocketts.

Oh... cant decide I will let you decide for me.

I'll race you to the 15K number! :goodvibes

When are you going back to DL?

Uh you have quite the head start. Is that even fair?

DL, maybe May probably June, maybe both. I'm surprised I haven't made it yet in 2011.

I know that I could ask a whole bunch of my friends to go vote for my picture....but I still like to think that I won on my own merits. I figure if I pointedly mention that I'm in the final vote, you can decide to wander in or not and then vote for the picture you like the best. :thumbsup2

But thanks anyway. ;)

So what is this all about?

So I have a trivia question for everyone. Many of us have eaten a meal at the Liberty Tree Tavern, but who knows the origin of the Liberty Tree and it's significance in American History?

I know a bit. Something about some drunk hooligans walking out of the bar talking about kickin out King George the Tyrant.

:scratchin I remember hearing about it when we did that walk along the Freedom Trail in Boston. I can only remember it used to be an elm tree - hanging was involved; and I'm not googling to see if I recall correctly or not!

As my mom used to say, "You're getting warm."

Well isn't that what the whole Revolutionary War was about? :rotfl2: I'm talking a little bit more specifics.... :o

I've heard two stories about the Liberty Tree, however the story is the same but takes place in two different cities. So what did you hear, Boston or Annapolis?

I like to pretend that I am an amateur photographer. The photography board runs a weekly competition....different topic; all Disney. It's quite an institution on the photoboard.
In the first week, everyone has the opportunity to post a picture. If I have a picture that fits the topic, I post it. There are usually at least 25+ pictures submitted.
In the second week, the mod takes all the pictures and sets up polling. Usually there are about 8 or 9 pictures per polling thread. Anyone gets to vote (once).
In the 3rd week, the top 2 or 3 pictures for each thread goes into a final vote.
At the end of the 3rd week, the winners are finalised.

At any given time, there are all 4 stages of the competition going on the photoboard.
1. The submissions for this week's topic.
2. The polling heats for last week's topic.
3. The final vote for the topic from 2 weeks ago.
4. The thread with the final winners from the topic 3 weeks ago (closed competition).

I usually submit and then periodically check to see how voting goes. I've finally gotten some of my pictures acceptable enough to make final vote this year. And I've got one in the top 3 this week.

:wave2: How are you going? Keeping well?

Very interesting. So do the photos credit the user who posted them?
