How's everyone?

It has been a rather expensive day for me.

Went to see Rio with my brother and his twins; my other nephew and niece, plus me and DS. Two adults and 5 kids.

Brother paid for the movie and I got the snacks. We all enjoyed Rio. DS and I thought it was better than Hop.

Then we had lunch. DB bought some of the lunch for him and 3 kids. I bought lunch for me and 2 kids.

The kids decided that they still wanted to hang out some more. So, DB and I decided it best to go 10-pin bowling....the alley was right in the mall where we went to see the movies. I paid ....2 games for everyone.

We had to wait about 30 minutes before our lanes were available, so the kids all wanted to go play some of the arcade games. DB and I handed over some more dough.

And then we had afternoon tea. Doughnuts (or donuts) - which DB paid for, drinks and coffee - which I got.

I don't even want to think about how much money DB and I spent today...

I know exactly how much I spent today. I spent $24.50. The $20 was for dinner (entree, sides, a drink, and tip), and the $4.50 was for bus fare there and back :lmao:

Sounds Painful but so long as you and the tribe had fun :)
I remember when there was a skilltester (claw machine) near the supermarket that was 20cents a go :lmao:

I went to the Nursery but the only cumquat plants didn't look very exciting and had no fruit (other citrus trees...even small ones...did) and was in a bland pot. So I'll check others and if I see one 'dressy' enough I might get it but otherwise I'll go with a vase or something.

Any tips on the type of store to go to for a Sake Set? And what it should look like.....

Skiingfast - Which song would you sing?

Mine would be Miss Otis Regrets in a jazz vein; or probably Poker Face.

Interesting choices...
You need to add alcohol to me to sing at karaoke.
Not sure what I sang though.......

That's a shame about the cumquat.

Is there a Made in Japan or something like that near you? If not, try some of the Chinese grocery shops and see if they have any sake sets...some of them might.

I think that I've long given up wondering if the people I'm giving the present to will like it or not. I figure if I like the pattern/design and it isn't too outlandish, then they probably will too. Blues/white colour schemes always seems to work.

We have Japan City...they might have something nice.

I agree...I just make sure it is useful and elegant.

Did I share?

My company celebrated 25 years in business and we had a celebration to mark the occassion. A group of us got tapped on the shoulder and we were in rehearsals for about 6 or 7 weeks in secret. We did a flash mob dance to MJ Thriller and then sang about 6 songs. I had a little "solo"...sang a verse in one of the songs and was in the 'choir' for the rest. We rocked the house down!

Alcohol was involved - AFTERWARDS!

WOW!!! You're very very brave....
Hell would freeze over before I'd do something like that...

Yeah - well - talent is optional for the things that my company stage. They used to do a musical review at the Christmas party every year when I first joined them. No casting call required. Just pitch up if you wanna participate.

I guess they remembered who pitched up from those days...:lmao:

I see you wandered over to the Anzac section today.
