Last Time you checked out a book from

Last real made-from-paper-from-a-tree type book? Maybe 2 years?

A Kindle book? A couple of days ago. I love being able to borrow library books for my Kindle. :)

Going to the library to me is my kind of shopping. I can easily get lost for hours looking at books and not mind it a bit. I always find what I like and more than I came for.

Browse shopping for clothes is not my thing. It takes forever to find something and even when I do, will it be the right fit and color? If not, I have to start all over again with the hunting. I can easily come up empty handed. Mood can go from happy to not so much. How can a store have so much and I can't find what I like? I don't know why I don't like shopping. It just seems like a chore.

When you compare the two, I'd much rather go to the library. :)

A few years ago ago. To get ebooks for my Blackberry I'll need to renew it. ;)
I'm presently getting my ebooks from Kobo mostly the freebies.

Last Friday...usually kids books for my toddler - she LOVES a trip to the library, we play with the wooden blocks and bead maze in the children's room, look at the fish tank, borrow books and kids movies weekly.

i usually read on my kindle but do still check out actual books for myself and hubby <gasp>

Last week.

Even though I have a Nook, I still borrow books from the library on a regular basis - just easier to borrow there than on Overdrive for ebook copy (the waiting list is horrendous most of the time)

I RARELY buy books for myself.

About 3 years ago or so. I never read it because the pages were pretty gross. I tend to use the library to rent DVDs.

I would be devastated if they closed my library. And when my kids were little we used to go there quite a bit for children's programs. I rarely buy books so I do my reading from library books.

My husband has something from the library at all times. I usually get something every couple of months. I have something on hold right now, waiting for me to pick up. We have a fabulous county library system.

The Library ?

I did about 12 years ago and before that it was over 30 years ago :rotfl: , I read but just dont use the Library

About 2 years ago from the physical library, because I have trouble now reading the print. I check out loads of e-books though, through the library website.

Saturday. We couldn't afford to keep me in books! I request books and get them as soon as they are released, which is great! Also do ebooks, but I don't like that our library retrieves them after 2 weeks, sometimes I'm not done...

Tell me about it, it can't be rocket science to learn right.

Last week.
I go to the library all the time. I read a lot, and see no reason to spend money on books when I can get them to read for free.:thumbsup2

If they don't have it at my library, I request it online from one of the 70 or so other libraries they're affiliated with and they deliver it to my town library.

You should check with your library. I know at my library you can log in online and renew your library book. You can do it, I think, up to three times if you're not finished with the book.
Same here..and I get an email reminder that my book is due a few days before the due date. It has a link in it to renew if you aren't done. They really can't make it any easier, love it!

wow, I guess no one would be with me on my ideal to defund the Libraries ;)

I know you are joking, but Libraries are much more than books. They provide programs for all ages, resources for the homeless or people in shelters. They provide outreach services for homebound or patrons who wouldn't otherwise be able to get materials. Our local Library is amazing!!

We always have library books floating around our house. MIL works at the library and processes the books as they come in. She checks out what she knows we would want to read And brings them to us.

On Saturday. I go every two weeks. As others have said, the library is more than books (although I would be lost without having access to great books). Our library has children's programs, ELL programs, literacy programs, tutoring services, etc.

A glass of wine and a good book is my idea of heaven.

Earlier today. Our library has a limit of 50 items, and, according to my account, I have 45 items out. Now, that 45 includes some DVDs as well as some books for the kids, but the bulk of it is mine.

I get to the library anywhere from 2-5 times per week, but sometimes it is a duck in to get a coffee and check email. Still, our family churns through 100 items in a given month, more or less.

I used to pretty regularly but then the library got remodeled.

I went in there, looked around and asked where all the books were. They didn't have as many after the remodel. They had tons of books on tape and movies and magazines and computer stations but if you wanted a book, you mostly had to request it to be sent to that branch which could take up to a week and that's if you were lucky enough to be able to borrow a book that someone didn't already have a hold on.

I found that extremely annoying, wrote to the library system to let them know my displeasure and finally walked back in that library last weekend. It was still the same.

So I doubt I'll be using the library much anymore since I want to walk in, borrow the book I want and take it home and read it right away.
