Last Second Trip

Okay, I think I'm going to surprise the kids. It is now Friday. I'm heading from Dallas to Houston with the family Sunday morning for a short visit to family. I decided I'm just going to keep heading East on Monday (I have a motorhome). The wife and I think it is a nice surprise for them on their spring break.

I have passes from a trip a few years ago (should be plenty). I need to find a hotel. Typically, I stay on site. Now that the kids are a bit older (7, 13 and 14), I'd like to get them their own room (finally!!). Since this is not a well planned out trip, I'd like to save as much money as possible. I have done priceline on a 5-star off-site before and I was okay with that. Is it worth it to go that route or are there are any great on-site deals with hotels this late in the game? I plan on staying Monday night through Friday night (we leave Saturday). Thoughts/ideas?

With your motor home I would imagine that Fort Wilderness would be an option. .... but wait, you said you wanted the kids to have their own room. Well.... how about a 2 bedroom suite at the Homewood Suites in Kissimmee? We have stayed there twice in a 1 bedroom suite and been very happy. If you are looking for on-site and want to stay on a budget, how about two adjoining rooms at one of the Value resorts like Pop Century or All Stars?HTH.......P

Thank you! I actually called to see about rooms inside. All value, Moderate and Deluxe were completely full. Not one room! I guess that is to be expected at the last minute during peak season. Didn't really want to stay in the MH, but I guess that is an option at $80 a night. I'll check on availability, but probably full also.
