I land 12/28 at 5 PM. Depart 1/5 at 1PM. I currently have a full sized bugdet car reserved for $266.93 with all taxes and fees. Anyone beat that here at the 11th hour?
Thanks for the lead. It comes up as $364 after all taxes and fees for the mid-sized with that code. Even minus the $30 that is 334. anyone esle? thanks for that one.
Those things scare me. I read so many horror stories of lost ressies and folks left in the cold to hassle... I'm sorta old fashioned and rather work with the company directly, personally.
I have used HW for hotels many, many times and never had a problem. The 1st time I was very nervous and immediately called the hotel to confirm. Once that trip went ok, I wasn't so nervous for future trips.
I wouldn't book a whole vacation this way, but it's good for a 1 night stay pre cruise, late arrival or for an early am flight.
I don't worry too much since I could always contest the charge with my cc company though I've never had to do this.
PRICELINE for car rental makes sence at this time because you know for sure you will be there ... that is what I personally would do ... for each of the negative reviews you have read there are alot of satisfied ... cmon ... you can do it .... and it will be so much less stressful on your arrival ...

A co-worker and dear friend got stuck sleeping in her rental car in LA after priceline screwed up her ressie about 5 years ago. They were not helpful at all. Now I am VERY gunshy about that whole business. Seems so odd to not know up front...

They did have a rocky beginning. Judging from what I read on www.betterbidding.com I think they've become a lot more organized. I use that website to find out what hotel I'll get from Hotwire before I buy. They track everything so closely, I can 'see' when the Hyatt MCO is available and can get it for $53 rather than the $180 they want on Hyatt.com.
The only reason I don't use Priceline for hotels is that they only guarantee bedding for 2 guests. With Hotwire, I can search for 2 adults, 2 children and know there will be beds for all of us. I personally don't go below 3-3.5* to be on the safe side.
Between my family and my parents, betterbidding has been correct for us around 12 times.
