We have never eaten at a character meal before and this trip we have decided to try a couple. One dinner I have booked is for 1900 park fare and the other is for Tusker House. Since AK closes at 7:00 I don't want to waste any of our park time sitting and eating and we really like to eat dinner at the end of the day anyways I booked the last seating at 6:55. Will all the food still be available and replenished or will we be stuck picking over what's left? I don't want to spend a lot of money on the meal and not be able to enjoy all the offerings. Also will the characters all still make an appearances?

We were at the Tusker House last week for 6:30 pm and park closed at 7 pm. There were plenty of food and they replenish them. Each character came at least 4 times and spent plenty of time with every one. And CM was there to make sure everyone at the table got to meet the characters and they also took our pictures for us since there was just 2 of us.

People came it at 7 pm (at closing) and again, lots of food and characters spent time with them. When we left park was already closed and plenty of people were left in the restaurant.

Best part was when we got out, park was empty so you can take nice pictures of the park and we stopped to do shopping and everyone was nice and helpful and did not rush us.

They will replenish, and you will see all the characters.

1) The HANDLER (aka, Character Assistant) makes sure their character hits everyone before the meal is over.
2) Not always more than once, but at least once.
3) Menu items are replenished, but not necessarily the long-cooking items.
. . . long cooking items sometimes are not replenished
. . . if they were cooked, there would be a strong likelihood of throwing them away
. . . they always throw away 7-9 40-gallon trash cans of prepared food (from the buffet, and not from guest dishes) daily
. . . since it is prepared, they cannot give such to "Second Harvest" or other non-profits
. . . the food (by law) must be thrown out

We literally just did this on Sunday. We had a 6:55 reservation. I had the same concern, more about the food, since it's a buffet. But never fear! The food and characters were plenty. It was buzzing at 7:00. We saw everyone at our table at least once.

1) I wasn't there, so you didn't get to see EVERYONE.
2) OK, so the characters might be considered more important.
3) But, just wanted to get things correct.

What are you talking about? You stopped by our table at least three times. It was almost a little much!
