We are hoping to take the September 20th 7 day for our 12 year wedding anniversary. We would have preferred to take it the following week, but there is no cruise that week and I'm assuming it's becasue it's going into dry dock after the Sept. 20th sailing. Do you think there will be any reduction in quality and maintenance on board due to this being the last sailing before hand? I don't know why I keep thinking that it would be less of a wonderful experience. What do you think? Can we still expect it to be top notch?

IMO I think you can expect the ship to be in tip-top shape. Dry dock is mainly for maintenance and repairs that cannot take place while the ship is in the water; I can't see any reason for DCL to slack off on regular maintenance simply because the ship is close to going into dry-dock.

I agree with Fire fighter, BUT...you might want to look at the 10/11/03 because there may be some new shows, and new clubs when the Magic gets back from dry dock. In addition there is a LARGE group of Dis'ers on the 10/11/03 and we are going to have a BLAST!!!!!

The Sept 20th Magic Eastern Caribbean is also a special group cruise. Avon, Disney and RADP are sponsoring the "Pink Ribbon Cruise" for breast cancer awareness. I expect that there will be special events and special entertainment. Two of the current guest stars are Deb Wills of RADP and WDWIG, and actor Chuck Wagner and his family. For those that don't know the name, Chuck's resume includes Javert in Les Miserables, Lancelot (to Robert Goulet's King Arthur) in Camelot, Gen. Howell in Kiss Me Kate, and the title role in Jekyll & Hyde. He may be best known for over 1,200 performances of Beauty and the Beast, both on Broadway and Toronto.
We are going on the 9/20/03 Magic cruise and are looking forward to the special guests. It might be the last cruise before dry dock, but I'll bet it will be a rockin fun cruise for us.
