Afternoon girls and Joe(I know he most likely still here) Kathy sorry about the wedding stuff-But heck my parents never helped out with all 4 of they're daughters wedding(I think she tryed with the 1st wedding-a little) but none of us expected them to do that-I eloped so that was one less think to worry about

So hang in there Glad to hear you're getting up and about nicely

My mom paid for my wedding but DH and I both chipped in and did our part, too. DD and her fiance weren't doing much of anything. DD's financial situation right now is so bad that she wouldn't have even been able to kick in for her panty hose! I am really hoping that they elope - or just head to the courthouse. (Actually, I'm really hoping that they just decide not to get married or to wait but...) They're still trying to pull of a "real" wedding but they'd be smart just to save any money that they may have (or that he may have since she has nothing but bills), elope and use the money to start their lives.

Sounds realistic to me- She really needs to try and live within her means and if she really wants a Big wedding then it would be worth waiting for-if not and she just feels the need to get married then a civil service/eloping is a good solution/option

hard life lesson to learn-but one that has to be faced and done!!!

OK-I have to run to the gym-hopefully not too many people will laugh at me and my one sided sunburn!!!:rotfl:

So I hope you all have a Great Afternoon-be back soon :wave2:

It makes sense to wait it out and get on your feet with the money situation more.

So many people want to hurry up and get married these days and than when the stress of the real world hits they run for the hills and end up divorced.

You are doing so good going to the gym on a regular basis. :thumbsup2

So true.

We honestly feel that the marriage isn't going to last. I told her that if they make it five years that she can stick her tongue out to me and say, "Na, na, you were wrong." And if they do make it five years we'll throw them a great anniversary bash.

But, truthfully, I doubt they'll make it even close to that long and DH and I felt we'd end up being in debt for the wedding longer than the marriage lasts!

Very sad. I wonder why she won't listen to reason. Wait two years and if you are still hot and heavy than plan a wedding. Why rush to have a ring on your finger. :confused3

That's exactly how we feel. But, she's 21! So naturally she knows everything and we know nothing!

I just hope she doesn't have to learn this lesson the hard way.

How much longer does she have to go to school?

She has another year. Technically, she should be graduating this year. But she took the five year approach to the four year degree. Up until recently I've never doubted that she would graduate. But I am having some serious doubts lately. She really has no direction. She's going to have a rude awakening if she does quit school, doesn't have a career or a good job and those student loans come due!!

Back and heading to drop off Catie at soccer practice

Thanks for the encouragement about the gym-it's not always easy getting there some days-but I need it since I'm so out of shape!!!!
