and then, unfortunately, home.

Oh Wow! I wish we were in the planning stages again! It's so much fun!

Sounds like some great plans!

Nope. This will be our first trip as DVC owners. July 22 - Aug 5th in 2008 and first 2 weeks in June in 2009.

We're DVC owners also. We've stayed at SSR twice and really liked it. We actually had the exact same room one year apart! My kids truly thought it was our Home Away From Home!

We've been staying at VWL lately. It has turned into our favorite resort, but we don't own there so we never know if we'll get it or not.

Where in SSR did you stay? We have asked for Grandstand, since we hear the quiet pool is nice, it's the 1st bus stop, and it's not too far a walk to the eats and all.

I love the planning stage! I guess that's why I have to have a trip planned always :teeth:

Kevin~ Are you going for 16 days/15 nights? Doing the DDP or the DXDP?

And I see you have Le Cellier down twice! My kinda guy!! ::yes::

We stayed in Congress Park. Nice view of DTD and back then they actually had fireworks at DTD everynight.

Actually 15 days and 14 nights. We are doing the DDP. Even with the changes, we will be saving money. We  Le Cellier! Short story on this. When we went this past July it was our DS15's birthday. We had arranged for a cake in advance to be there. We talked briefly with the server beforehand (gosh I wish we had her name - she was AWESOME!). Food was outstanding, we loved every bit. When came time for dessert, she came out, took everyone's order, and then brought out the cake instead! The look on his face was priceless! Surprise achieved. Anyway, just a memorable meal all around, so we decided to do it twice this year!

We will also have PAPs and be using the DDE card as well. Can't pass up the 20 percent off on extras like wine and alcohol. :thumbsup2

:rotfl: :rotfl:

and here I am begging my family to come back with us!

One thing I forgot on the plan. My DW's mother, grandmother, and aunt are coming down to stay at SSR with us for a few days. We already have the reservations for them, and the meals planned. Now we just need to convince them to let us pay for everything. :lmao:

We love the DDP too! But now that we have two additional "adults" I just don't think it's going to work for us for awhile.

Last trip my dd ate my ultra picky ds's adult food and she was so over the fancy food by the end of the trip she actually said "Man, I would love some mac and cheese right about now!"

And mean old evil mom that I am... there was NO way I was going to be paying $39 a day for her to eat mac and cheese :rotfl:

This upcoming trip I think we're going to go to Super Wally world and stock up on groceries. We've done that in the past and it's worked, but man is it hard to pass up Le Cellier, Whispering Canyon, Ohana's, etc.

I really wished they had a junior price point. Two of my kids are too big to do the counter size kid meals, but too little to do the adult table service entrees. I say give me the option Disney!

[ok, off my soap box]

When the IL's come with us we insist on the DDP or else they would refuse to eat anywhere!

The first trip they came MIL insisted on making us hot dogs and canned soup in her RV. I kept telling her our meals are PAID for already! Please come and eat out with us!!

By day 3 she was a convert and now I have her dreaming of the Mango smoothies at Le Cellier :cloud9:

Kevin

When you are at AK if you like Asian food you should try Yak & Yeti for lunch. We ate there on our last trip and really enjoyed it.

Thanks Joe, but unfortunately, our DS15 is a picky eater, and we are already forcing him into 2 places he may not like much at. :teeth:

But we'll probably go there on a future trip by ourselves. :cool1:

What?? You get to go by yourselves!! I am so jealous :guilty:

Thanks, Liz. We actually hadn't thought about putting them on the DDP. Hmmm, we'll have to take a look at that option!! :goodvibes

Well, it may not work out if they're only with you a couple of days.

You can only add the DDP for your whole stay. So, if they're only there for 5 days, then you still have to purchase the 14 night DDP for them. (and it only applies if you're within the occupancy limit.)

We get a two bedroom, so there's 8 of us with the in-laws, so we just buy the DDP for all of us. Then they get their campsite and don't have to worry about tickets if they don't want to.

I love that we can get the DDP w/o any ticket attached to it :woohoo:

and don't tell my dh.. but I'm trying to talk him into get us AP's again this year :rolleyes1

Actually, we made a separate reservation for them for a studio. That way, we can use just the 2 days that they will be there. One of the meals will be at LeCellier, a 2nd at Crystal Palace, and one at Boma, so we'll have to price it out for them.

We decided since we were doing 2 loong trips in less than 1 year, that we just had to do the PAPs. We might not ever again, but it worked out for these 2 trips. :)

Our only scheduled trip this year will be during the Christmas season

No mid year trip

At least you have a trip to look forward to. We don't even have one planned right now.

We'd like to go in October but we'll have to see if we can afford it. We've got lots of $$$ stuff this year --- A.J.'s graduation from high school (along with senior pics and his class ring), Matthew's 8th grade trip, Matthew's 8th grade graduation, and we're thinking Matthew's going to need braces soon. So, I guess we'll just wait and see!
