SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- ConAgra Foods Inc. is recalling Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Great Value Peanut Butter for possible salmonella contamination, officials said Wednesday.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has linked 288 cases of food-borne illness in 39 states to consumption of varying types of Peter Pan peanut butter, according to the Food and Drug Administration. Great Value manufactured at the same plant in Georgia, could carry a similar risk of contamination, the center said. Great Value peanut butter made by other manufacturers is not affected.
"Although none of our extensive product tests has indicated the presence of salmonella, we are taking this precautionary measure because consumer health and safety is our top priority," said Chris Kircher, a ConAgra spokesman.
Kircher said the company is still assessing the recall's financial impact.
The outbreak appears to be ongoing, and the first consumer may have become ill in August, according to the FDA. Symptoms associated with salmonella are fever, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.

So did anyone get anything special for V-day?

:yay: I did!

Each of my boys gave me a handmade card.

Matthew included some handmade coupons....one said "Lifetime help for anything u need!"

A.J.'s card said
"To Mom
From A.J.
I LOVE YOU MOM!
Happy Valintines Day"

I cried when I read A.J.'s card. Theres A LOT of hard work in that writing...and that from a child they said would probably never read or write!

Andrew's was simple and to the point...
"I love you mom. Happy Valentines Day!"

And the boys gave me a teddy bear wearing a vest and pants and holding a rose.

And DH gave me a mushy card  and a teddy bear holding a balloon. I usually get him a mushy card and he usually gets me a funny one. This year it was opposite. The card I got him had a big, fluffy hamster on the front standing on her back legs, holding a skimpy nightie! One the front it said Happy Valentine's Day. Inside it said, "Thank goodness for spandex!" :lmao:

Awww Kathy! you're making me tear up!!:goodvibes

It has always amazed me to see these people go all out to be romantic one day a year and be total schmucks the other 364 days :confused3

I could not believe the men that came into the store yesterday spending lots of $$$.....Roses, roses, roses, stuffed things, wine, steaks. Instead of DH getting me a dozen roses (or two dozen like some of these guys were getting) I would much rather he get me a single rose now and then - or a handful of daisies out of the yard. Like you said, Joe, why be romantic, or even nice, one day out of the year. I'd rather have someone that's good to me all year and doesn't have to prove himself on Valentine's Day.

DH and I are going to the George Strait concert on the 23rd and staying in Pigeon Forge that night so that was supposed to be our Valentine's gift to each other.

THANKS! I printed that info and will check when I get home...I don't think we have those brands....but I will double check

:headache:

Ok, they announced today that the school will add all extra calamity days to the end of the school year.

Normally that wouldn't bother me, but we have a surprise WDW trip planned. We were going to leave right after school on the last day (a Friday). Now they say school will have to go on Monday too.

DH said, just miss the last day.... but since T is a 5th grader they do a "walk" on the last day where all the 5th graders come out and the whole school, parents, etc are outside clapping and cheering for them all. It is a tradition that the kids all look forward to... kind of like a little graduation from elementary school.

What to do

Bummer! We go through this every year! :sad2: We've learned not to plan anything for at least two weeks after school is "supposed" to be out because they always end up changing the last day. We're supposed to get out this year by May 21st. We've gone as late as June 15th, though.

Is there any way to change you WDW ressies without losing $$$???
