From "The Sound of Music"
Words by Oscar Hammerstein 2nd
Music by Richard Rodgers
There's a sad sort of clanging
From the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple too,
And up in the nurs'ry an absurd little bird
Is popping out to say "coocoo".

Regretfully they tell us,
But firmly they compel us
To say goodby to you.

So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehn, good night,
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight.
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehn, adieu,
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu.

So long, farewell, Au'voir, auf wiedersehn,
I'd like to stay and taste my first champagne
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehn, goodbye,
I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye,
Good bye

I'm glad to go,
I cannot tell a lie.
I flit, I float,
I fleetly flee, I fly.

The sun has gone to bed and so must I
So long, farewell, auf wiedersehn, goodbye,
Goodbye,
Goodbye,
Goodbye!

lisa where did you find out about the DISpenpal thingy?

:wave2: Hi everyone. Yesterday I posted about the special on Expedia...well, it sounds like they aren't honoring it  which is okay for me since the airfare from here was insane...but this really sucked...no Expedia for me in the future :thumbsup2

oh, and DS had a GREAT DAY AT SCHOOL TODAY :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :sunny: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: he said "I thought it would be fun, but it was more fun that I thought it would be " :goodvibes and that his teacher is really nice and he made friends but doesn't know there names and that the green vegetables at lunch was :crazy2: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

when I left him he couldn't care less I was going...and I broke down and cried after both kids were in school :guilty:

From a girl who visited our Pop century meet threads. She's heavily invoved in meets, window decorating (?), and such so she let me know she was starting one. You have to send at least 1 letter a month, at least a paragraph long. I think she posted the thread 2 days ago and there are a TON of people signed up already!! Sounded like fun so I'll give it a whirl.

Let me check the exact thread name and I'll be right back!

Oh, one of my faves of ALL TIME!!! I just love that little girl at the end of the song but I ALWAYS think it's sooo stupid that the ENTIRE group of people below all wave and sing "goooood.byyyyye"!!!! I know, it's just a flick but I've always wanted to tell someone that!! :rotfl:

I was looking everywhere on Expedia for it but I couldn't even FIND 'Cruises'...good thing, I guess!

Airfare is nuts..not so much the 'fares; but the service charges, taxes, etc.
Our 'fare' from Toronto to Orlando was $186pp but the 'extras' were $247pp...go figure!! :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Kelli....the thread is:

The **Official** Dis PenPal thread....on 'community board'

Lyn...your kids are back to school already? Wow!! Ours don't go back until after Labor Day. I think I'd prefer your schedule...do they get 'extra' time off during the year?

They just switched everyone here on the public system to the same year-round schedule and we LOVE it! they get 6 weeks at summer, 1 week in October, 3 weeks during the holidays and 2 weeks in March :cool1: our weather here is basically the same all year round, so it is not like the summers are hot or we have snow days...so the school schedule is pretty set :thumbsup2

DH and his friends are cooking outside and the kids are playing and I am inside taking it easy in the house....let them cook and watch the kiddos ;)

That DOES sound :thumbsup2

We have 1 school in our city that is doing a 'trial run' of the same type of schedule. They started on Monday. I believe I heard they were going to test things out for 1-2yrs. and see how things go. Our kids lose sooo much over these long breaks...they spend at least the first month just reviewing where they left off back in June!!! My DS is also in full time French Immersion and he finds it REALLY hard to get back into the French part as we don't speak it AT ALL!!! :confused3

I think that was the biggest reason they switched it...the kids loose too much over the long summers....I like the idea of little breaks. Many of the private schools also switched this year, even DD's preschool...it makes it easier on parents with kids in different schools and parents that are also teachers.
