The walking the dogs didn't go as long as I wanted. A storm is coming in and it starting lightning.

You sound like you have the same type of respect for lightening that I have. I think that comes from those summer-time FL storms!

I was off today and so nice to have a weekday off. Got lots of errands done.

DH came home from work with some good news, too! He really wasn't sure if he was going to get any $$$ with his promotion (and he really wasn't too worried about it) because he's already making more than any of the others in that position because he's been there so long. Well, they called him in today to discuss some things before he starts the new position on July 1st. Turns out he's getting a 5% raise for the promotion! That, along with the 4% merit increase that he's getting as of July 1st is really going to help us out! Today they also gave him a pager and told him that they would pay a portion of our cell phone bill each month!

Oh-oh! A friend just called to see if Andrew would like a bunny. She thought since his guinea pig had just died this may help him. Well, he doesn't. (He had already said that he doesn't want any more critters 'cause it's too hard when they die! ) But, Matthew wants it really bad!! He's talking to DH about it right now. I made him go talk to DH about it because I would have said yes right away!

Looks like we'll be getting a new family member next week. My friend's daughter is going to bunny-sit until a week from Friday since we're going to PA Sunday. The timing works out great 'cause the 29th is Matthew's birthday!!

Meeting was sort of good and sort of bad. They sort of backed me up and our attorney agreed with me, so that was good...but right before the guy left, he starting making all these comments about my Dad You know how where I live is kind of a small place, I guess he knows my Dad a little and it seemed he ran into him at a function at our church a couple weeks ago and was complaining about me to my Dad and gave him an earful. Then, he had said negative things about me and how I was nothing like my Dad (even though I get my personality from my Dad ) to everyone in the meeting At least the people I work with sort of laughed since it was so obsurd what was said... and I was laughing it off too...but it just sucked. I talked to my Dad tonight and it seemed like he told the guy he didn't want to be involved, but I think the guy was going on and on to my Dad and was expecting my Dad to influence me. My Dad mentioned that his friend was annoyed, which I can totally see since his friend is ex-swat and can see through bs in a half-second....and the guy was bringing up other stuff about where I used to work (like he had done research on me ) and then said other mean things. the whole things sucks....

Oh My Goodness Lyn - I am so sorry this person is acting this way towards you. That is totally uncalled for and unprofessional. You were or are doing your job, I am so sorry that the person can't see that and has to issue little warnings like he knows your history and stuff.

Aw, Lyn, that's terrible!! He had no right to "attack" you personally like that! And he had no right to talk to your dad about it either. I don't know exactly what you do but I'm sure you've got confidentiality rules (doesn't everyone these days) and you probably couldn't go talking about it to your dad. So why should this guy have the right to try to involve him!

I'm sorry you're going through this! Just remember....1...You were just doing your job like you were supposed to and 2...This guy is obviously a jerk!
