yesterday was a tough day

I also had a doctor's appointment today. (That's where I was when I missed the call on my cell phone.)

I have battled high blood pressure for many years but lately my heart rate has been high too, even at rest. The doctor had put me on some other medicine for my b.p. and it was helping but I was getting too many other side effects and I asked him to switch me back to what I had been taking. Well, now he wants me to go for a chest x-ray, a pulmonary function test and see a cardiologist to rule out an underlying problem. It really hit me when he was saying all this....pulmonary....cardiologist! Those are some big, seriuos words and I don't even want to think those things. My mom died of emphysema and I know what that is like! And my dad died of lung cancer, which was found on a routine chest x-ray. I go for the pulmonary function test and chest x-ray Thursday but don't know yet when I'll get in with the cardiologist. Please keep me in your prayers! I'm really scared.

You know that we will. Just remember things are allot better now a days than they used to be. Early detection is the key. I am glad that they are running all of the tests on you now.

Today was DH's birthday. I fixed Fettuccini Alfred with grilled chicken. OMG! - IT WAS SO GOOD. It is supposed to be a copy-cat recipe from Olive Garden's recipe but I think it was better than Olive Garden's!!!

It calls for 2 tablespoons of cream cheese but if you read the reviews you'll see that some people have increased that to 8 ounces of cream cheese. I used the 8 ounces and it was soooo rich! (I actually used 16 ounces 'cause I doubled the recipe.)

Guess what! I missed a call on my cell phone today from the assistant superintendent for the school system. He left me a voice mail. He said he was pleased to let me know that the issue has been resolved and that the website has been removed!

I came home from town today and guess what I was STILL able to get to on the internet!!!!!!

Very strange.

M is going today to get her hair cut for Locks of Love!

she is so excited about it. I am so proud of her. She has been growing her hair for over two years and would freak out when someone (mainly her annoying older brother) would pretend to try to cut her hair. A friend's daughter had hers cut for LoL and I showed M all about them.

She said she wanted to do it! Dh was so against it! "NO!! Don't do it!! You're hair is so pretty! You've worked so hard at letting it grow!" Then he turns to me and says "This was you're idea wasn't it? You're trying to get her to do this??!" What is it with men and long hair??

Anyway, I gave him a big old lecture on how he needs to be reinforcing her SELFLESS behavior. How he should be proud that SHE is willing to give up something that she worked so hard for, to someone that she doesn't, and will never know!

He is ok with it now, but boy I wanted to shake some mables out of his head the other day!

I will post some pics later with it.

OH that is so WONDERFUL!! Take some before and After shots. She is doing a wonderful thing and I am proud of her for it. I can't wait to see the pictures.

I am not sure what it is about men and long hair. I think the reason I have long hair and freak out over getting it cut is from my Dad. He never wanted me to cut it. He liked long hair. And because of that I can't cut my freakin hair.

DH likes it long but the other day at church he was pointing out hair cuts that he thought would look nice on me.

And for some reason I can say this to others but not myself. It is only hair and it will grow back.

She did great! They took almost 12 inches off, and her hair is still pretty long!

They put it in two french braids and she is in LOVE with it!! (of course I have been trying to let her let ME do french braids and she refuses!!)

I am so proud of her! It is such a beautiful thing that she chose to do.
