Hi S.C.

Hi everyone We didn't get to go camping or the beach this weekend The cut on DS's foot was really bad and dirty. We took him last night to get it cleaned and it took DH, a doctor and three nurses to hold him and clean it...they finally got the board out when it was time to glue it shut. So, we have to keep it clean and dry for 5 days...so no going camping and sponge baths for a while...I always tell DS to wear slippers outside...I hope now he will listen to me

So, today we cleaned and some friends came over for lunch. I think tomorrow we might see that movie Cars with DSil and my nephews....other than that, we are staying home and keeping DS's foot clean

Wow. He really did a number on his foot.

Yep. He was playing in the mud and somehow got a huge gash on his foot...it was a straigt cut, but there mud and gunk in there. Mama tried to clean it up as best she could, but couldn't get in there to clean it. DH and I didn't have better luck, so that is when we took him in. Which I am glad we did...right when all the coughs and colds were almost done....I swear it never ends...sort of like my laundary

Wow if it was that dirty it was probably for the best that you took him in to get it cleaned up good.

so far so good....but we are watching for infection It was right across the bottom of his foot, like he had it sliced across with a large rock or something. I felt really bad for him and for Mama....she keeps calling to check on him, I think she felt/feels horrible. But, it wasn't her fault...things happen and he is an active boy...I have told him how many times to wear something on his feet outside...this could have easily happened at home...hopefully now he will listen

yes he is better i gave him a little bit of ceral with apple juice blended with it to give it flavor. DH is at drill and he is going to pick up some babyfood. I have moved him up from 5 oz to 7.. yes he is drinking 7 oz. i think he is in a growth spurt. At least i hope so... 7 oz that adds up to $$$ LOL

isn't that the truth! I nursed/pumped for the first 6 months with mine, then gave them enfamil to drink and mixed in the cereal. That stuff was expensive...but at least I could buy the large thing at Costco. Then, DS had to drink Pediasure for a while I hope the state gives you some kind of stipend or assistance for caring for a baby....especially for childcare, car seats and all those things.

I know things happen but when they happen on someones watch they always feel bad. Nobody's fault but you still feel bad.

Poor thing. Is he able to walk on it?
