All they have to do is change the chip inside of the phone. I don't know why they would do something like that for you.

None of the companies in our area will do it. We know it can be done but they say it can't be.

well it irritates me too! my mom sent me this one... it's almost the exact phone I have (we have Tmobile) but it won't work b/c it's a cingular phone. I took my chip out of mine and put it in there, but it still didn't work.

well it irritates me too! my mom sent me this one... it's almost the exact phone I have (we have Tmobile) but it won't work b/c it's a cingular phone. I took my chip out of mine and put it in there, but it still didn't work.

That is how they get you!!! Product protection!!! Dell computers and Gateway computers does the same thing-you have to use their products or it wont work-total bull

Did you call them. Because I think they have to input some serial numbers from the phone to make it work after you switch out the chip.

I found our replacement on eBay-have you check there yet??? -they usually have great prices on used phones,the one I got had everything included in it,charger/car charger/manuals and all in the original box

I would call whoever your CURRENT provider is. Tell them you are switching the chip in your phone to a different one. And do they need the serial number from the new phone to make it work.

It is worth a try.

The hotel is really nice, all suites. I'm sitting in the room right now and can see the beach. It's really pretty!

A friend of ours gave us a Verizon phone a while back and I even took it in to Carolina West and was told they couldn't switch it over. The girl there (who I've known for years) said they probably could do it but they weren't "allowed" to do it!!! She said that if I wanted to go buy a brand new phone somewhere else they could do that but if it had already been used on another service they "couldn't."

I thought I was the only one that fell asleep at the computer and then woke up startled. (I also fell asleep like that on the bus yesterday!! )
