Doesn't your dentist do a pre-treatment plan? When I take the kids in for their 6 month cleaning/check-up, if they need any work done the dentist does a pre-treatment estimate so I know the charges and they send it to the insurance company to make sure it's covered. And then I've had them put on our files that I do not authorize any treatment not covered by insurance unless they talk to me first. So we haven't had the problem for a while now.

they did that for the ortho work, but not for regular stuff.

like T just went in for some fillings, and came out missing two teeth!!

they didn't ask if they could take them now (we were planning on taking one when we started his ortho work). One was just loose and he said it was bothering him, so they took it!! You'd think they would come out and ask me if I was ok with pulling a non-necessary baby tooth!! :furious:

I think I'd have some serious problems with that dentist. They probably charged for an extraction for that tooth, right? For something that would have fallen out on its own if it was already loose!
