We use a charter school.

Basically it's a virtual school where they send everything to us, and I teach the kids, but we're part of a public school and there are teachers who moniter the kids progress, papers, etc.

That's neat. I've never heard of that concept. I know that each state has it's own homeschooling laws and I don't think NC allows something like that. Here it's pretty much all home-schooling or all public schools (unless there is a special ed need like speech therapy or physical therapy, etc.) It's almost like "never the 'tween shall meet."

Lyn - We went to Crystal Palace for DSs birthday last year and it was great! Pooh, Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore are there, they even do a birthday parade.

As far as airfare - don't the airlines usually do some great specials in January after all the winding down of the holidays?

Wish we could start planning again but it'll be a while. Oh well, like you we have great memories of our recent trip!

Thank you for the tip on Crystal Palace...now I won't need to search the dining board last year they had a heros lunch at Epcot on Mother's Day, so I may try for that too if we are there....maybe I should start looking at making those 2 ADRs now, I think they opened it up to 6 months instead of 60 days

The flights I want are really wide open, I checked and there are plenty of seats so hopefully it will come down. Right now it is $718 w/o the fees/taxes....sometimes it comes down to high $400s and then it is low $500s with the taxes/fees...that is what I am crossing my finger for. It was a long trip, but when DH and I were talking about going to another island for a week instead of WDW (next year's family vacation), we realized we would pay almost as much....it would be around $800 for our family to fly to another island and then the hotels are really expensive as well as food, plus renting a car...ironically it is a better deal to stay onsite at WDW for less than $100 a night....the problem here is, we can't drive anywhere to vacation

They just gave an update on the FedEx plane...it had just landed and slid off the runway as it was coming in. The wheels have wedged into mud. There were no injuries. And - get this - they airport is still open but the "may be some delays."

Hello - um - you want me to get on a plane after another plane just slid on ice on the runway??? I don't think so!

I think ice was the reason our plane was delayed in Denver...I was up for hours after little sleep with two young ones and I wasn't feeling well...some people were very angry but I thought, forget being uncomfortable or inconvienced, I rather be safe and WAIT....why take chances, I was happy to wait and be rerouted while they made everything safe....not worth the rush

I feel so good today! (still have my lingering cough) but Now Travis has it.

Michael is working from home today b/c we're supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow today so that will help a bit... not sure how much.. but hopefully it will.

So... Griffin is sick, Brandon is sick, and Travis is sick. Brandon made a sign for our bedroom door....

I HIGHLY recommend Crystal Palace. And they're open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Make sure you tell them that you're celebrating a birthday and they'll put streamers and confetti on the table and then all the characters will sign a birthday card. And not only is the atmosphere for a birthday awesome the food was great too!
